Glad your MIL slept better. Being on oxygen is, I'm told, very uncomfortable. Perhaps the oxygen is making her confused, or maybe medication. That, most certainly, can do it. She's best where she can have the help she needs. Hoping and praying for her speedy recovery for her sake and for all of your family's sake. It's so hard to stand back while a loved one is ill and just wait for the outcome.Typically self-effacing reply. I'm sure others see it as a blessing that you were guided to this thread by He who moves in mysterious ways acting (unwittingly?) through mods I assume. JKP back from visiting and MIL slept better last night but still on oxygen.
So, @JohnEGreen I am not the only one who goes into a panic when I realize the trek inside the hospital is too much for me. And like you I've said to myself I'm not going. But I have gone so far, and factored in a heck of an extra amount of time to reach the department. I have a walker with a seat, so I can sit on it and rest. But the distance I need to do inside the hospital, with my slow pace of walking and frequent rests on the walker seat means I have to allow up to another 3 hours of time inside the hospital to reach the appointment department and get back out again.Fbg was 5.8 this morning yes I don't believe either but the meter doesn't lie does it?
Going to put my shoes on and have another little stroll in a while Melody insists on going with me even though it only to the corner of the road.
Had a text this morning reminding me of an appointment for cardio vascular department just a check to see if my stent is ok but it is at QMC will involve navigating four floors up and across a warren of corridors and then down and up then down again panic already setting in going to contact them and tell them unless they can assure me that I can do it without crippling myself again I am just not going.
Hope you managed to get some sleep @AnnbIt's 2.25 am. BG 9.5. This is the second time I've been up. Em is here and we went to bed early, for Em 10 pm, for me, at 10.30, I thought it was a bit late for her, being the night before school, but by the time she'd showered, it was 10. She couldn't get to sleep for a long time and nor could I. She finally dozed off about about 11.30 and I couldn't settle (chest a bit tight and wheezy) on my right side. Tried again on my left side and was just dozing off when my right leg started hurting so I had to get up. Took some pills and a cup of warm milk and went back to bed about 1 am. Did manage to doze off in a bit, but woke again at 2 am. Gave up. Got up. And here I am - cup of tea beside me and nothing to do except chat to you guys. Unfortunately, nothing to chat about. Ah well ... drink the tea and sit in the big chair. I wonder if there's anything on TV that I would care to watch just now. Also unfortunate - my eyes are burning with tiredness so watching TV may not be the best idea either.
Lovely art. You can sing Tiptoe Through The Tulips while the building works are ongoing.Fbg 6.7
On the nighttime wildlife camera
Cat Midnight smacks that Fox several times...
Cat Marmalade sleeps on the cat biscuits hour after hour so no one else can eat them....
He sleeps on them from just after 2am, until nearly 6am
Cat Midnight glowers at him.
Creative is another digital sheep in Procreate...
Have your best day.
Yesterday I was expecting a parcel before 1pm.
I sat on the couch by the window and waited and waited and waited...
Nearly 6 pm before it came.
And then I missed it.
I had got off the couch to take my meds and inhaler, doorbell went. I went straight to door, I am only 6 paces away from door. I open door, and the overweight parcel (of cat biscuits) was on the doorstep, and the delivery van was high tailing it out of sight. I had rather hoped to ask him to lug it into the bungalow for me...
So my best day today, won't be wearing my cochlear hearing processor to listen to the roof replacing activities over the road and their radio amplified to mega distortion (perhaps those workers will be deaf in their old age), nor to listen to those chancers yesterday seeing me sitting by an open window and coming up to me...
Chancer one - I'm Pat, I was working on your neighbour's trees at the back of you, and saw you needed some work doing ...
There's no trees on the back of me in neighbour's gardens.
I sent Irish Pat away with a flea in his ear...
Chancer two - I was sent here, this is _____(my address)? I have got the right place?
I haven't asked for anyone I replied.
Oh, it was your husband then he replied.
When I see that husband of mine, I replied, I'm going to....
So, he left very quickly.
Chancer three - I'm in the area, I see you need some work doing (pointing to my garden).
I launched into an explanation of the angle of incidence, and how the height of my trees, in the summer, protects my front room from the heat of the midday sun.
He backs off slowly with me still explaining. So rude...
I will be in silence from the outside world today.
I will NOT open my front curtains. The doorbell has been unplugged from the electrics...other doorbells switched off - they have flashing lights.
And I shall potter in my back garden among the birds and stray cats...
Fort Knox Fence neighbour has had another consignment of building materials, so he is making construction site noises again, so I am unable to wear my sound processor peacefully in my back garden...
And I might be in the potting shed playing my out of tune ukulele. My daughter from Australia tuned it for me last year, and she is coming over again this year, so it will get tuned again. But I am deaf and can't hear it, however, I love the feeling of the vibrations of it against my chest.
And I also have a lyre harp.
You didn't know this did you?
Again out of tune, but I do try periodically with one of those gadgets, so the strings are not too slack, and have a nice vibration.
I love the vibration as I 'play' with it against my face...
gennepher signing out to have my best most perfect day...
Time for a cuppa...
Oh, the sky is blue not a single cloud, the sun is out. I am taken back to when I was a child when the weather was like this, and I had no incoming sound whatsoever...bliss.
Fare thee well, until tomorrow...

What a sad state of affairs. When my mum visits the hospital for an appointment, she gets a prescription for a taxi ambulance (my parents live in France). The driver picks her up at the door and at the hospital pops her in a wheelchair and takes her to the place she needs to be. Same happens in reverse when she is ready to go home. I thought you could book at least wheelchair assistance.Fbg was 5.8 this morning yes I don't believe either but the meter doesn't lie does it?

It is a sad state of affairs. It always used to be possible to get a porter to push a wheelchair to the required department, and back. The last time I asked for assistance at our local hospital the porter moaned and complained about being too busy for this, but he did push me to my appointed place, however grudgingly. It is a self propelling wheelchair so I managed to get myself back to the entrance rather than call him again. Took me about 3 times as long as it took him. What a sad state of affairs. I didn't even make it to breakfast, Ian. Relaxed for a moment in my big chair and woke up when Neil came in with the shopping at a bit after 10! Must have needed it.Morning all on yet another day where England leads the sporting world. The official page for this flagged up a not secure warning which was a shame. A dull and much cooler day here than of late. @Annb hug for the pain and lack of sleep. I hope by now you have managed to knock out a few zs and make some sense of e-consult. @gennepher well done on dealing with The Chancers and thanks for the creative . That sheep seems to be sheltering a few cats. @dunelm thanks for the art and illustration of how less world leading nations somehow seem to manage to treat their citizens with dignity. Obviously taxation rates are in no way linked just ask Liz. Very wise to leave the carpet cleaner to those who have attended the requisite training course. I do wonder why the hospitals @JohnEGreen, @gennepher and anyone else need to access don't use Mychart since it seems to be part of Epic. Another Epic fail of the swivel eyed and mendacious crew to actually put their arm around us? Fun start here with two grandchildren arriving earlier than advertised having missed breakfast at home then needing to be ferried to school. Morning drop off may be even madder than pickup. Worse still, dad had left his laptop behind and on it was his presentation for a promotion. JKP drove to Cambridge station - 2 hrs for a 30 minute journey due to roadworks. At one stage she took 30 minutes to go 0.2 milesHe better get the job. Have a great day if you can. Anyone making LC pancakes has my sympathy but these sound interesting. We won't be trying those as the grandchildren have pre-ordered Nutella.
Good news on catching some Zs. As for the porters, a shrewd guess would be that better paid employment in safer environments became available. The which seems to be very difficult to see for those with their eyes closed to life as actually lived. Heroic journey by JKP. Can we now have MSG in our pancakes - I like Kimchi but probably won’t be indulging.Morning all on yet another day where England leads the sporting world. Yesterday trip to buy fruit trees, special offer in supermarket €11.90. Also bought fruiting currant bushes, few shrubs and some herbs. Plus what now seems an excessive amount of onion sets, garlic bulbs and seed potatoes. Am convinced there won't be anywhere near enough space in the vegetable beds for all of them. Today I bought half a dozen lettuce seedlings...time to get digging.
MrSlim has got both the new skylights in the attic bedroom and is now finishing off plasterboarding.
Kiki is quieter and the Tomcat has not returned. MrSlim thinks he saw him yesterday in the next village.
