What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@dunelm, I can't imagine you being too phased by a telling off from diabetes medics. With BG of 5.6 this morning - what have they to complain about anyway? Or will they tell you that is too low? Well, you know better than that.

Blood sugars this morning were a 5.6 I shall say thank you to the meter of disallusionment, note to me, me’s and myself cheque spelling.

Good luck to fellow greaser @dunelm with his diabetic check up and also those that are battling the nhs dogma.
I have been there and had some interesting sessions at the gp’s and also with some hospital junior doctors. All I shall say if I had not and did what they said I would have died years ago. Luckily I have access to some extremely knowledgeable transplant specialists who always look at the big picture.

Morning all from a wonderfully bright gorgeous blue skied but very cold L.A. No fbg taken here but Swipey is on the way. Two grandchildren here to be delivered to school this morning. Dad is in Edinburgh and mum has to be tending to sick animals. A four year old girl in school uniform is vaguely sadistic imho. @dunelm thanks for the art and I hope the diabetic review tickled you feet and fancy. @gennepher thanks for sharing the video - proliferating badgers is a bit worrying? - and the art. As @Annb says that lighthouse looks to be on its last legs - looks like Spurs defence on Sunday. School pickup then dash home, feed children and deliver grandson to swimming for 5.00 p.m. In between more steps, much tea and some useful low carb calories. Enjoy your day.

My nephew and a few other people on O2 received it again on Monday apparently. I hope you weren't subjected to it again.

Another friend received the alert but it came through as gibberish, like it was still encoded instead of in English. Funny how the whole thing was sub contracted to a company owned by a certain politician's wife and is costing a million quid but they can't find the money to keep the NHS working at a decent standard. I will rant about this so I'd best stop now.

8 again this morning, but that's not so bad when you consider my supper consisted of half a banana at 1am when I realised the reason I was feeling so sick was because I forgot to eat dinner.

Breakfast this morning was 2 eggs scrambled with fried peppers, cherry tomatoes, a little goats cheese, a pinch of salt, wild garlic, and paprika. PP of 9.4 which is high but not bad considering the start of 8.....unfortunately after a bit of being at work moving books and toys around I'm feeling frigging hungry again, going really low carb always leaves me hungry when I first start it, and my bloods are still at 9 so going to try and chug some water and see if that helps.
 
5.8 this morning. Catching up with admin before I am off to classes in Norwich. Unusually on a Tuesday I have a lovely long break between the lunchtime and afternoon classes and the evening classes - so will have plenty of time to relax later.

Snap...I had scrambled eggs as well...a pretty near zero carb day today for me...I try that twice a week...if eggs are available...

A win for the 'alert' bonanza

As for low energy.

Not sure how long you've been at this, but a little tale taught me to re-evaluate food .

I was running late one morning (pre accident) and had a Greek yoghurt & some blueberries for breakfast on the go as I got ready.

(Been trying to do the couch to 5k thing..very early days barely running for a few minutes at a time)

Left house, thought if I lightly jog I might catch the train after my one

Ended up running all the way, & actually caught the train BEFORE the one I thought I'd miss ...( T'is a good service )

I learned then to appreciate how a little can do a lot.

I used to marvel at the documentaries where some hidden tribe laughs at the starving presenter as they run and hunt for days on end, with little more then a sharp stick & some nuts and leaves

I now know how they do it.

Good luck adapting a way to get to your next meal without running dry or snacking (I see meal as fuel stops, the next point in my day where I refuel the engine)

That new diary secretary is a keeper. Give them a long term contract.
 
At the risk of sounding like a news channel..(truth social...mmhh lol )

I'm in that Google universe, I use Google, Maps, email & g-drive.
I also use Google one for storage
(Basic at £1.59 a month 100 GB )

Anyway recently spotted I get a VPN (virtual private network ) with the Google one storage.

Sort of a private web shield around your browsing so others can't easily look at it.

Nothing I look at warrants the worry, but it does offer to keep your browsing more secure.

The tiniest of slow down in browsing, hardly noticeable if not looking for it.

But it's Google & others out there that perform better, but all cost.
So if you use Google one storage, maybe try it.

I've not noticed a downside as yet.


Just thought I'd mention it.

Morning all.

Top weather picker here, sharing yesterday's glorious choices.

Missed rehab last week (too busy, exhausted, napped for an hour after work before class...slept through alarm )

So thought i'd cycle / Ebike to work & make up for it with a cardio day.

Slight rain on way in..last bit all uphill..but felt good.

Time to go home, all apps saying rains down for next few hours.
So ummed & ahhed...then headed out on bike.

Rain was biblical.
A very nervous ride home, but did it safely .

Got home drenched (rainproof long jacket & waterproof boots) but still, the rain is an implacable foe, it seeped in where ever it could.

At home today, aching a tad...more the ache of holding muscles too tightly at points I think, as kamikaze drivers tuned radios while trying to demist their window (all of them )
then the actual riding, long though it was.

But like I said, felt good for having done so & conquered the fear.

Good morning everyone on another bright and sunny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Annual diabetes check up came and went yesterday - results on or about the 10th. I had to go back later as they insisted on yet another sample of uric acid in suspension. Gardening supplies. A dangerous conglomerate of the things arrived in the boot of Mrs Miggins’ car. It did include a young Wisteria, an indication that we may see ourselves in the next decade. We had one in our previous house but this one will be trained down the fenceline rather than all over the back of the house. Bought myself one of those soft shell jackets after rave reviews by Mrs Miggins and shoved it, and hers into the washing machine with a dollop of Nikwax waterproofing in the hope that they will be a little more “shower resistant” than the label indicates. Art bit - just needs a bit of color now. Hope your day is a kind one. Time for koffy.
