Do you like cheese? Nuts? Olives, Pâté, Salami type meats? Seed mix? What about natural full fat greek yoghurt? Cream in your coffee? All tasty and few if any carbs. Should help with calories without adding carbs. The thing is, I'm severely underweight and I'm not really sure what to do in this situation. I need to eat enough obviously and lowering carbs just makes me lose more weight. I can't afford that at the moment.
As for my meals, I eat "balanced" meals. When I eat carbs, I always make sure to pair them with enough protein and fat, and of course, fiber from mostly raw vegetables. I don't eat fruit or desserts whatsoever because I don't have a sweet tooth.
And I do get high readings even after my "balanced" meals.
Thanks IanHope today goes as you would wish. Yes, it is the Llŷn Peninsula with Nefyn the particular focus - Duffy anyone? MIL and JKP have very good local knowledge, we are taking a wheelchair and 3 6 foot 4 sons built like brick outhouses. I will keep an eye on them but what I see as common sense is anathema to those two. MIL is up and dressed a good 2-3 hrs earlier today

And yes. I too have to be careful not to lose too much weight as I exist naturally right on the line between normal and underweight.
Have you been able to see a dietician or nutritionist? I do hope your "balanced" meals are not based on the dreaded Eatwell Plate.
Happy birthday, fellaGood morning everyone on another splendid start to the day here on The Gower. Yesterday was busses, benches and automobiles. A splendid drive over to Worms Head and Rhossili bay yesterday. A decent wander round even if there was a lot of sitting on benches for rests. Afternoon was a bit better and managed a nice long walk along the sea front although we did catch the bus back. Another bus trip this morning to a place called Clyne Gardens just this side of Swansea. Tapas bar tonight and as I have now tripped into middle age (70), I will be having some beer. Art bit, onwards and upwards. Hope your day is kind to you, I simply must go and make lofty.

Starchy foods can be so addictive but they really can also be the villain of the piece. I love bread, rice, potatoes, but I think that, after years trying to fight them off, I have discovered that I don't actually need them, or even like them very much, any more. If you can't stomach large enough meals of fat and protein, why not try more, smaller meals? You wouldn't then need to eat until you feel nauseous and/or too full. Maybe 3 small protein and veg meals with snacks of cheese, ham, smoked salmon or somesuch, in between.I like almost every kind of food (not a fussy eater), but I'm not too fond of nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocados... I'm indifferent towards fruits and sweet things like chocolates, cakes, cookies.... So I don't eat them. At all. I can live without fast food as well. Maybe like once a month, on social occassions it's enough for me.
I do like animal fats and all kinds of meat and dairy products and I include them in my daily menu.
My favorite type of food is... anything starchy to be honest. I love white rice, potatoes, all kinds of bread. I find it hard to eat enough if I don't include them in my meals. Too much fat and protein makes me too full too soon. Almost nauseous..
I still haven't seen a dietician, but I know I should (I have to)
Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those tip toed through the carefully nurtured tulips in their hob nailed boots while being shouted at by the gardener. Did you ever? Not so much! Whoops Nancy Sinatra crept in not Tina Turner. Never mind.
Very jealous. ..Blood sugars this morning were a 5.2 .
Here in Tilehurst Towers life should be peaceful for Mrs J this morning, hopefully me, me’s and myself will be out on the bike. While Mrs J sorts out what wives sort out.
This afternoon our eldest grandson will be earning a bit of pocket money gardening for Mrs J and me.
Now if you don’t mind I have to sort my motorcycle clothing and all the other parafinalia that goes with motorcycling in this day and age.
Shiny side up
Stay safe.
Enjoy Oystermouth Castle!Good morning everyone on day two of my 8th decade here on planet strange. Thank you for birthday wishes, much appreciated. We spent a good part of the day at Clyne Gardens which at this time of year is in full technicolour with all the exotics planted over the years amongst a huge canopy of trees. A bit like RHS Wisley forced into Westonbirt arboretum and then just gently looked after without too much Capability Brown. Perfect place to keep cool from the heat of the day. Tapas bar last night - very nice and after a supposedly nice, easy day, 8 miles on the Fitbit. Not all at once and interspersed by three bus journeys and a good deal of testing benched along the sea front and in amongst the trees. Art bit - wonder what’s next? Probably a bit of that castle in Mumbles. Have a smashing day if you can. Best make some lofty.

Looks almost cozy compared to your normal artworks. It's amazing to me how the added colour makes the whole thing so much more substantial.
