What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I'm wary about the possible increase in calcium from some ingredients
Yes you are right to be wary as although collagen isn't a source of calcium it does help the body utilise the calcium you ingest from dairy products. It forms a matrix within the bones, providing a framework for calcium deposition. This enhances the absorption and retention of calcium, ensuring that it is effectively utilized by the body.

That sounds like collagen would actually be quite bad for you - even though there is no calcium in the ingredients.

My weight has been up and down too - around the same weight as yourself - wouldn't it be great to have a day or a week or even longer off from this woe with no adverse effects (I sometimes do - I am not perfect - we would all be exactly the same if there was such a thing as the perfect person) - I am sure you will see a huge improvement with your new weight as there must be literally no fat there now - great FBG btw mine are sometimes a lot higher x

Had easy trip through to Cumberland infirmary this am and waited near the entrance.
Traffic not too bad in the pouring rain, Marjorie took the ECG back to the heart pacing clinic.

We were soon back in our local town so we went to Lidl and our butchers in Wigton. Back home at 1100 having accomplished a bit more than I expected in an hour and forty minutes.
A very poor day weatherwise for the end of July.

Helen coming up today from Merseyside to make sure we are behaving!

Been looking at the American congressional committee inquiry into U.A.Ps.
it's interesting stuff but little green men would have to land in my garden one night for me to be sure!
Whatever they are their capabilities are not producible by humans as described.

So remember it's not UFOs anymore it's now Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, trust the Yanks to simplify it!

Seen plenty of UFOs but they have wings that flap.

Have a great day all of you.

Fbg 6.4

Appalling weather here yesterday.
The reservoirs should be full to brimming.
All my bucket containers to collect water in the garden are full, but I use them to water the container vegetable garden, which always needs extra water even if raining...

Wildlife Nighttime Camera
Just Badgers all night & a grumpy Cat called Midnight

Creative is an ink painting, but this next batch of ink paintings instead of keeping my eyes open when making the initial ink markings, I closed my eyes and made scribbles. Then I opened my eyes to apply the water with the hake brush. Top pic is original, bottom pic has had some silhouettes placed in it.

When we, or I at least, make markings with a brush or pen, the tidy me comes to the fore and I do more carefully placed but 'boring' marks. J always said, use the star constellations for placing flowers, daisies for example, in a painting, and then you get that randomness/naturalness for the placement of the flowers.

Time for a cuppa.

Have your best day.

Brilliant creative, as usual, particularly the 2nd one. Shame for the little bird. I hope it was just one of those things that happen in nature and that the other birds are allright. Trust you to forget about your own welfare for the sake of the birds. Do take care of yourself though.
Edit: fixed typo.

Smashing art work. I expect there will have a hose pipe ban coming your way shortly .

Good morning everyone on another day of overcast gloom here in the dark and dangerous north. Mind you, our recently laid turf is looking great and we have only had the sprinkler on it for one day - thank you jet stream for that at least. 5.1 on the monitor at 0730, such a pity that it runs amok after that, a bit like the chimp jumping out of it’s box in my head and spouting inappropriate yet fascinating observations. Interesting programme on CH4 last night at 8pm called Secrets of The Supermarket - worth a look see, especially if you cling to specific brands. Art bit - just doing some sketches at the moment. Hope your day is kind to you. I must finish my koffy.

Yes it would be wonderful if we could have a day or a week or even longer off from this woe with no adverse effects. I think that my problem was that the day off for Christmas ended up being so much longer. At first I was able to maintain good blood sugars so I thought that perhaps it was OK to carry on with higher carbs. Sadly that was not the case.

You are right that there is literally no fat there now so I am hoping I don't need to drop very much lower before BS are back in the 5s.

Still in Tibet or Nepal, I see. Great. Enjoy your coffee.

I'm kind of making half hearted preparation for visitors today. It was arranged a few weeks ago but I've heard nothing since about who is coming, or what time. Been trying to contact people but they seem to be busy and not responding. So I'll have something to hand - including food but not too much of it. It could go either way - maybe they'll come, maybe they won't. Going to make some salad and put it into a plastic box to hav e ready for a light lunch, in case they come early enough for that. Also making an experimental flapjack with oats, butter and dates for the T2 oatcake lady. Mixture tasted fine, but I'm not sure it will hold together. Might have to add a coat of 100% chocolate. I've given up on cooking with banana - can't get a reasonable texture. Hugo (the basset hound) enjoyed a couple of my most recent efforts when he came for a visit yesterday.

Thank you @Annb
I will keep a particular eye on them...but I am always watching anyway,

I didn't realise I was going to be out there over half an hour...

Brilliant sketch @dunelm
I love the trees in particular...

Cold gazpacho isn't for cool, wet days. Hot soups are far more comforting, especially since it is summer and should be warmer and dry. We need a little comfort food in such situations.

So long since I used my French that I am quite unable to answer you in that language although I can understand what you have written (I think so, anyway).

I have an intense longing for flapjack, and you writing about it makes that longing even greater...
I am a person who throws a handful of this in, a dollop of that etc and it would be thrown in the microwave (the oven broke 15 years ago). I do not measure, and it is always edible...
Will you give me an idea of your recipe please? I have 100% chocolate also if it does not hold...
I fancy a teeny tiny square with a cuppa tea...
Thanks in advance...

Google gave me this...
"Yesterday the weather was nice and I had a lot of tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers, sweet and chilli, so I cooked gazpacho for lunch. But today it's raining, I smell cold. I would like to eat the hot soup"
Soup sounds good @SlimLizzy

Well done Hugo for helping out.
