Isn't that the reason labelling is on these type of garments?6.0 this morning.
Talking of jumpers and things my Cashmere jumper went in the wash one size came out another small disaster but not such a great thing in the scale of things.
As to specsavers and cataracts they had known I had cataracts at least 3 years before they mentioned it to me I had no idea.
Almost gave you a funny for that then realized the need to carry an empty plastic bottle is no joke.Today's tip.....
Always carry an empty plastic bottle!
And I'm not explaining!
It certainly ain't!Almost gave you a funny for that then realized the need to carry an empty plastic bottle is no joke.
I carry a urine bottle in the car and a large bath sheet to cover my embarrassment for occasions like that.It certainly ain't!
Been caught in a traffic snarl up and had to use alternative!

I hate those drivers who didn't need to go for years!I carry a urine bottle in the car and a large bath sheet to cover my embarrassment for occasions like that.
Sometimes, you just have to go!There was an occasion when, before he was totally crippled and still able to drive, that Tom had to go to the hospital for a test and had to drink a pint of water an hour before the time of the test. We live a 20 minute drive from the hospital so he duly had his pint of water and drove himself to the hospital. However, there was a pile up on the one road from our part of the Island and the road was closed for 2 hours. There was so much traffic held up that he was unable to back off to get turned round so he just had to sit it out! He was in terrible pain by the time he got to the hospital. But, amazingly, he did make it.
Thank you @ianpspurs and yes, I suppose the Hardy poem would fit nicelyMorning all from my Breckland lair on a maarled start to Sunday. Dark but positively warm at 4.25 today - no me neither. @gennepher hug for the stress from that letter but winner for the delicate creative. @dunelm's plan seems on point. Talking of that splendid fellow, excellent news on yesterday (Yorkshire P excepted) and holding firm over the jumpers whilst appearing to surrender to the monstrous tyranny of de-scarfication. Thank you for sharing the splendid art. Hardy's darkling thrush would fit right in there imho. @Krystyna23040 hug for the sub iconic desktop experience. Give it 4 generations and you'll be accepted as a local - until you speak. @alf_Josiah hug for feeling sub-optimal of late and enjoy the day which should be a tonic. Yesterday I live streamed a Christingle service from Ely Cathedral and watched a recording of the wonderful Advent service from Keeble College (in that other place) while JKP made a Keto Panettone and watched something called films (noise cancelling headphones are one of God’s great gifts) - win, win I'd say. Lamb shoulder and TV sport today for me. Have a sonnet - I do rather like the O Antiphons and Malcolm Guite.
Watch out for those Chelsea tractors they may be in the hands or feet of the frustrated and short sighted. Not too sure about other parts of the the country, but here in the land of TWA, with a Ts, most are too busy practicing that most essential of road skills, the Mandatory U-turn in the narrowest or busiest roads in the area (London obv, it's a breeding ground for such good drivers )
Had one such U-turn on my way home on the e-bike
Most upset I didn't wait for his laboured skills to turn the vehicle before passing his Chelsea tractor ...
Motorcyclists sometimes get asked “how far can you go on a tank of fuel?” I always replied, “40 minutes is the limit of my bladder.”I hate those drivers who didn't need to go for years!
Is temptation a place?Update on today’s posting. The bbq went well thanks and as said a tonic, without the gin, thankfully.
This afternoon we have been listening to music over the internetty and me, me’s and myself will be thanked by the grandchildren’s parents when the grandchildren start singing “ Puff the magic dragon “ by Peter Paul and Mary, such are the pleasures of being a grandparent and woke.
Next song could be Copperhead road by Steve Earl.
A thought has occurred to me, the phrase Lead me into temptation, nah follow me I know a short cut.
You were right to be cautious about the parcel @gennepher but good news that it was a Christmas present. Hopefully Diane will let you know next time she sends you a present.Fbg 6.6
Run out of time here.
The bane of my life is logins that don't let you in.
1. Is the NHS Wales log in app, which insists on you going through the process of re-registering each time you log in. I cannot get my repeat meds via EMIS now, but have to use the Wales NHS app. The Wales NHS site promises everything with this app, but delivers nothing. I manage to finally get into it, to discover a very poorly designed obscure repeat prescription form. And there is no box to tick to say where you can collect your meds or paper prescription. Everything else the Wales NHS app promises ,what I get from my surgery is, 'you do not have permission to access this', 'your surgery does not provide this option', 'this is not available from your surgery', and so on. Just the same as the other online apps/log ins that my surgery used.
2, I went out this morning to collect my Amazon parcels. BUT, the Amazon device the Post Office uses would not allow them to enter the Amazon log in. It kept them locked out, so, despite taking other ID they said they could not give me my parcels until scanned by this device....
I fell asleep when I got back this morning, because of the futility of this morning, and because I had to go and search and buy a couple of things that were in my Amazon parcels that she could not give me, that I urgently needed, and also because my available energy for the day had now been expended.
A wasted day for me.
My creative, a Chinese drawing is only partially done. I do not have time nor inclination to finish it. So, I made a kaleidoscope of it. Then I made a second kaleidoscope of my green bedcovers, and blended them. I used the Laboscope app. Best I can deliver today.
The Wildlife nighttime video.
I used just one clip, it was a good one.
And it made editing easy for me this morning...
Cat Midnight & Fox & Badger all in the same frame - Midnight snarls...
26 seconds
Oh great, a troll has just visited that video. I have just despatched him and his Ignoramus comment...
Anyone else want despatching to oblivion today? Because I will happily oblige...
Have your best day today.
I would sleep more, but Midnight doesn't have any culinary skills in the kitchen, and I need breakfast...it is now nearly 1pm.
Oh, I nearly forgot.
You want to know about that parcel from yesterday from Kazakhstan?
Well, I was not going to open an unsolicited parcel.
There was a return address on it.
I googled.
A business.
An email address.
I emailed and told them I had ordered nothing, and that I would send it back, return to sender, and that they would have to pay the return postage on it (no idea if that was true or not, but bluff is useful sometimes).
Got the info back that it had been ordered from a Diane in the U.S.
That was all I needed.
I have a penfriend called Diane.
I sent her an email literally blasting her out of the water for not telling me. I was only partially joking...
I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry she said, it's a Christmas present for you. I ordered it from Kazakhstan, I never thought it would have a return address from there on the parcel....????????
The parcel was plastered with what looked like Russian stamps...
The mind boggles....
She could have landed me with custom fees...anything...

I think @Krystyna23040 she will let me know next time! You were right to be cautious about the parcel @gennepher but good news that it was a Christmas present. Hopefully Diane will let you know next time she sends you a present.
Thank goodness you have an appointment at St Paul's this week @gennepher. That letter would also have upset my digestion.I had a letter yesterday afternoon that has just come, which I had no idea was coming, and I had no idea this had been set in motion. It had to be the Specsavers optician that says I have cataracts, that set this in motion.
From NHS Wales.
But at the bottom it says eidohealthcare.com
And EIDO.
It is for cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) with Monofocal Intraocular Lens Implant.
This offer expires the end of March 2024.
Among other things that leaflet tells you to let the healthcare team know if you have had previous laser eye surgery.
And asks you to ask questions of your surgeon or healthcare team if you don't understand or have questions.
What surgeon? What healthcare team? This letter is a complete surprise to me.
This is an 11 page document about cataracts the offer of which expires end of March 2024, and all the pages say "Copyright EIDO Systems International"
The covering letter simply says NHS Wales Betsi Cadwaldr University Health Board, but NO actual location/address where it has come from, the only contact is a phone number which is just for appointments. There is no email address, although there is a picture of an envelope, but no email address by it. This covering letter is from an Appointments Clerk (but from where). The letter tells me they (who are they?) will be in touch, and offer me an appointment as soon as one becomes available and under "Where will I be seen", it says the majority of appointments offered to you will be in the location nearest your home. This letter was sent 14 Dec 23.
I cannot talk to daughter in Australia, she is on holiday, in some remote location in an Airbnb and she says she has no Internet connection for a week and a half. She needed a break...
I don't like the sound of this letter. Sounds very rushed to me. Anyway, I had a look at the Monofocal Intraocular Lens Implant details, and it says I will still need glasses for both long distance and also glasses for reading, which was not my understanding of a monocular lens. The optician had said, Specsavers optician, that the NHS only did the monocular lens (when she was telling me I urgently needed the cataract in my right eye doing), and that I would only need glasses for reading after the cataract operation (I had told her I was going for a second opinion at St Paul's and I was going this coming week and gave her the date).
So is this a private healthcare company? I did a bit of research online, and I find they are providing digital solutions, and distance solutions.
Why this rush, and offer that expires at the end of March 2024? This doesn't sound like the NHS to me...
I have a friend who will telephone for me. She rang the number on the letter, but was told it was just for appointments, nothing else, and I would have to wait until I got an appointment letter which would be soon.
When friend related this to me, I expressed my concerns about this whole thing and the rush. But my friend insisted this was amazing this offer of the cataract operation coming through so quickly, and I should accept it and go ahead with it etc etc. She cannot understand my concerns, and reluctance.
It is less than 3 weeks ago that the Specsavers optician said I had cataracts in my right eye. And that the sight in my right eye had dramatically worsened (but her equipment kept steaming up making everything blurred).
And the biggest thing is as far as I am concerned is that the sight in my right eye is no different than it was about 5 years ago (my current glasses are 5 years old and the optician always said they didn't need changing, and I have an eye test every year), the sight in that right eye always has been a bit blurred.
This was just the regular yearly eye test, not because I had any new problems with my eyes, because I don't.
St Paul's is this coming week. I am working out a list of questions for them today, which I will print out, and just hand it to the specialist.
This letter really has upset my digestion...
