What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hugs for not feeling so good @Annb
I still have the original famous five (they are in my garage in an old wardrobe in there)...no wonder Neil was befuddled with the reinvented Enid Blyton...

Happy Boxing Day fellow fighters, painters and posters on this Boxing Day Tuesday, Ah Tuesday and in fairness to the woke brigade me, me’s myself identify as Loretta. Only on Tuesdays.

Bloods sugars this morning were as expected, decadence wins and is very likely to score another win today.

Edit, drat posted to, too two soon.

Christmas Day in Tilehurst Towers was as expected and my youngest sons Polish in-laws experienced their first full on British Christmas dinner with all the usual accompaniments followed by Christmas pudding and a lot later in the day a very British sherry trifle. Polish Christmas feasts start on Christmas Eve and appear to finish in March ( slight exaggeration). We just cram it all into one day, thankfully.

An unusual present, or insult turned up, a dna testing kit, the Neanderthal version, just who do these gifters think I am, Eddie Izzard? Mind you it is Tuesday and Loretta always does her nails, just like Eddie Izzard.

Now have a great day all

Loretta.

5.7 this morning. A lovely relaxing day yesterday with lots of dog walks.

I really loved my special dessert yesterday. I had forgotten how delicious raspberries, blackberries, blackcurrants and redcurrants added to mascarpone cheese was.

Really good that it didn't raise fbg. I think that I can now add them back onto my shopping list.

Seriously???
A DNA testing kit???
I think I would be wrapping that......

A DNA testing kit is something I order personally for me...but if someone gave me one, they wouldn't be leaving in one piece...

Your Christmas dinner sounded amazing...and the very British sherry trifle...

Although I did read Enid Blyton books as a child, I never actually read any of the Famous Five books. Not sure why. Maybe my parents just never got around to buying them for me. Usually, it was classics like "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and "Eight Cousins". I do remember "The Pole Star Family", but the rest have gone from my memory. I also remember being so very offended when my grandparents gave me a copy of "Alice in Wonderland" - the cartoon version, which I considered to be too babyish for a grown up girl of my advanced years (7), so my mother went out and bought a proper version of "Peter Pan" for me. Obnoxious child!

Actually, I would be delighted if someone were to gift me a DNA testing kit because I would love to take one, but can never justify the price - not even now they are being offered at a bargain price. I have got back as far as I can at present using online Family History sites but would really enjoy knowing the distant past (some in Wales, much in England, pretty solid Anglo Saxon, I imagine, even though one part of the family, from Essex bears a name which was often taken by Jewish immigrants in medieval times. Very much a mongrel, I suppose but I would love to know.

BG went up a couple of hours ago to 11.2 but I took some insulin and it is now down to 5.9. I meant to have some food, but didn't get around to it. I've just put some bacon on and will have it with some eggs in a while - probably need more insulin when I do, but we shall see.

Beautiful

END OF YEAR REPORT :

JJ has had an interesting year

Main studies have been
: Effects of exhaustion on the human body
: Best ways to combat mental issues
: Exercise as a way to improve mobility.

I have included remarks by his various tutors over the year.

Prof Dunworeout writes
"JJ has certainly taken excellent notes of how to reduce exhaustion, though he can try to run before he can walk.
I expect more improvements from him next term. 7/10”

Counsellor Oomigod writes
"This pupil has a long way to go in fully understanding the ramifications of coping with mental issues, but has applied himself all year, and i am impressed with progress so far 8/10”

Phys Ed Instructor U-insane Blot writes
"Excellent year for Raak.
Improvements all over the park.
Not back to full fitness after injuries, but did well in pre season training
I'll be looking to begin his rehab back into the first team early next term. 10/10”

Overall, given his tutors reports, I'm happy with the boys progress, though he does have more wild flights of fantasy than I'd personally care for.

I think next year will see us try to bring a little more reality & normality to his studies.

Yours sincerely
Rt honourable Sir beanthere-Dunthat.
MBE.
Headmaster of Whole life schooling.

Such a beautiful Chinese scene. Never really thought that China had such steep hillsides, and it was a revelation when I realised that the depictions weren't imaginary. It was the same with Japanese landscapes - I never thought that the colours depected could be realistic - until I saw them and saw my error. You have such a sure touch with these Chinese scenes, Gennepher.

Thank you very much @Annb for your lovely compliments

The starlings are back! I haven't seen them for about 5 or 6 weeks but there are a few outside just now - seemingly expecting to find their old nest site still available to them. Sitting looking wistfully at the blocked up hole in our eaves and occasionally flying up to hang on the wall below the hole to inspect it more closely. Some are bathing in the puddles in the road outside the front fence but most just sitting on the fence gazing up at the eaves. Makes me feel mean for asking Neil to fix the ventilators which had fallen out of the holes in the eaves!

An absolutely stupendous report @jjraak
You must be proud.

Nice!

well done, top marks, that man!

6.5 this boxing (footie) day.
Saying that have just spent a couple of hours with #7 & #8 boxing (wrestling) with Barbie dolls, gonk train, toy cars, other stuff! Fun!
Feet up now, and relaxing.
Mrs L is tired after yesterday's exertion, and having a long nap, so I can concentrate on the footie.

#4 summed it up yesterday, after dinner, after pressies, after a glass of shandy...........
All that fuss, for one day?
His father's face was a picture! Ungrateful stupendously stupid person!

Need a cuppa before my team hopefully gets a win! (Ha!)

My best boxing day wishes to you all as always!

Not more food!!!!!!
