What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

7.0 aagggghhh!
Didn't want to be this high, need to know why but I have no idea.

Sunny, clear blue skies and it's still quite windy. And for mid April very cold, not above 7degrees yet.
A bit of a frost overnight and another expected tonight.

Been up since 4am, Mrs L had a bit of a spasm, through her back and legs. Couldn't settle or rest.
Took another hour or so to get Mrs L to be comfortable.
By that time and a couple of cups of the morning nectar. (Tea you......... lot)
And of course doing some chores, I was wide awake.

No more moaning, have to get on.

No sign of the workmen, so, I suppose, no radiator to hand yet. No matter, the system works without it - still adjusting it, but overall we are warm enough and not too hot, and that can't be bad.

Have to go out soon for my appointment. Enjoy the rest of your day, everyone, as well as you are able.

I keep a log of everything I eat, most of the time I know why my FBG is high. I have been doing this for long time. Best wishes…

There isn't always a reason @Lamont D. Sometimes it just is what it is. Could be food, could be stress, could be a cold, could be a different bug (kids carry lots of bugs around with them and are generous in their distribution), could be anything. You would have to be keeping a very close records of everything, not just food, to be able to pinpoint exactly what makes BG rise further than we want. Even then, there may be no reason at all - just that your body, or your pancreas, or some other organ, felt like it.

I have my food diary back to my experimental period just over a decade now.
Since I fell off the last wagon a couple of years ago, my weekly average has been around mid 6's.
I fast and am very low carb cos of my RH.
It has crept up over the last couple of weeks.
I thought that cos of better moods, my BG would follow suit.
But I'm tired and frustrated mainly cos of Mrs L, but other stresses like the weather, not getting out as much as I need to. May e cos I'm not out enough eating too much for that amount of doing stuff.
Or more likely, the whole kit and kerboodle of my life at the moment.
Having a fasting day tomorrow, counselling day, and if it's a bit warmer, a twenty minute walk there, and twenty minutes back.
Thanks for the suggestions, I just have to be careful and get my fasting down.
 
Went to my hospital appointment today - waste of time really. The Medical Consultant is a very pleasant man but has no suggestions about improving my health - except to lose some weight. He did acknowledge that I have lost a little since the last time I saw him (about 8 months ago). I think I've done pretty well over these months. Still, why should I expect praise for that?

I did say to him that I have been put onto a new tablet for my blood pressure because it had been extremely high. The nurse had checked it before I saw him and it was fine, so he made no comment. How have I been feeling? Not very good, actually, I explained. I told him that my GP wanted me to add some vegetables to my carnivore diet because she felt it was a threat to my kidneys. "Well", he said, "we're not really interested in your kidneys, we're keeping an eye on your liver." I know they're different specialties but I did think there might be a connection.

Anyway, I will be sent for a US scan of my liver some time soon and he'll get a report on my upcoming blood test from my GP and wouldn't I prefer to be given a telephone consultation, or video next time? No. Definitely not. Doctors should actually see and talk directly to their patients, not have a garbled consultation over some alternative medium. Anyway, I can't hear very well over the phone and I don't have the technology for a video conference. I do have a tablet and Zoom but it is small and the sound isn't up to much.
 
I think @Annb you should have acknowledgement from the specialist that you have lost weight. It is not praise you were asking for but acknowledgement that you are working in the right direction....

Without your kidneys, your liver wouldn't be working, so I think there should be a more holistic view on this...

I'd watched him for a minute, but when I started drawing, I'd not noticed the pen setting was wider because of a previous drawing. I had already done his head when I realised, but I was going to lose the man if I wipe the drawing out to start again, by the time I altered the pen setting, so I thought I'll have to go with it, this wide line....by the way I draw these with my finger, and I can't see half the time what I am drawing!

And, he was wearing a puffer jacket, but the line was too thick for me to be able to draw the puffer jacket!

Good morning everyone on a bright and sunny start to International Bin Day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 this am. It’s local election time here - Mayor and Police & Crime Commissioner so lots of chaff being added to recycling bins. We even got a letter from the Darkling Thrush who took time out from leaning against the fence singing “when the boat come in” in an attempt to be all northern levelling up like. As with all elections - you get loads of dancing birds of paradise and then, just like that, it’s all over and all the flashy promises disappear. I’m going to be extra fair this year and vote for everyone - and maybe add a name or two to the ballot paper for the Caveat Emptor party. Anyhow - art bit - same old, same old but in Paynes Grey. Hope you have as good a day as you can make it. I shall finish my koffy and consult my postal vote papers.
