What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hope your day improved @gennepher

Really good choice @ianpspurs. We really like John Denver.

You have had a very successful day @gennepher

12.9!! I think it's safe to say there is now no trace of Gliclazide in my system. It is possible that the nurse will reintroduce this, and/or put the insulin dose up when we speak later. My readings were high at lunchtime and bedtime yesterday too, and I hadn't consumed anything unusual.
Back in the office today and my commute will be horrible. Tuesdays are always awful, and it's "pishing doon" (in the local vernacular.) I also didn't set my early alarm, so didn't take antibiotic until after 7, so no breakfast until after 8, so I'm thankful for Flexi time!!

Antibiotics may be effecting your blood sugars. Perhaps speak to a pharmacist - they are probably best placed to advise. I would probably be chatting also to folk on this forum who are experienced at the gentle art of balancing insulin doses and also discuss what it is that your particular nurse is advising.

7.9 at 04.00 today. 4 hours sleep. That's pretty reasonable for me. This is the day for my ECG and for attaching the 48 hour monitor so couldn't risk falling asleep again. A bit light headed when I had my shower but feeling OK just now (now that my heart has slowed down again). Had breakfast but must remember to take my pills before I go out. In fact, must do that now.

Good morning everyone from beneath the pale orange glow of dawn here in the dark and dangerous north.5.3 this a.m. We were all being very good yesterday.
A favourite of Mrs Miggins is moules-frites so a bit of clandestine research and off we went - oh look! Shetland mussels on the menu - how fortunate.
Later. It has been said that life is a series of moments and all problems are interpersonal relationship problems. I tend not to think about other peoples life tasks but of course when asked, am ready to assist. Acting as intermediary and talking on the phone for some time separately with two estranged family members each of us living in a different country. An agreed first step and hopefully a hatchet buried but then it is their task now to move forward. Life is far too short.
Email from the internet people gaily informing me that my latest bill is ready for me - like an unwanted advert for some Botox lip filler.
Art bit - well there it is.
I hope you can enjoy your day. It’s all a moment at a time, relish the good bits. Best make some koffy.

Oh wow, I love the effect those salt crystals give @dunelm

Morning all on a day which promises temperatures in double figures but light rain later here. After some consideration I have decided even though I have no idea what it/that may be it is not impossible there could be some benefit to myself or yourself to me doing this daily but your mileage almost certainly varies. @Madfarmerswife hug for everything unpleasant and unwanted in your life just now. @dunelm good advice for MFW. Thank you very much for sharing today's interesting art. Good news on the fbg, tracking down the moules-frites and acting as family mediator. Is the art born out of reflecting on some issue or just where the muse guided? @Annb I hope the ECG event proves either reassuring or useful. Our meet up and meal yesterday was most convivial. I enjoyed the company, crevettes and duck, The tiny slice of fondant potato i tried proved utterly underwhelming so I won't ever go off piste for more. JKP enjoyed the break from cooking after the consecutive family Sunday lunches so soon after Christmas and New Year. I can't promise to enjoy the day but I can be grateful to God for the unearned opportunity to do so, even in part:Grandchildren here later. Now we see through a glass darkly, I "get it" (if only very small scale number wise) Abraham. Give Tuesday a go, other days are available with different names, colours and styles. There's sure to be one to suit you.

Going to have a quiet as possible day. I'm sitting in the sunny window but there's no sun. Sigh.
Internetty things today and planning a bit of stuff, and trying to finish setting up those two new devices.

So creative is the Laboscope app pointed into my front garden. It does make it look sunny, when it actually isn't. But that's the best I'm going to get from my window.....
Dull grey cloud today....

Going to make a cup of tea and then I might actually have a nap....

Take care...

I might read a bit of a book later...
A real physical book, while I am sitting by the front window.
This is the best window for the quality of light coming through to read real books. Much nicer than reading by electric light....

Wonderful kaleidoscope, thank you for sharing. I hope you are successful with internetty things and reading. I find the novelty of physical books quickly palls with no hyperlinks or videos - quite possibly some late onset ADHD. Enjoy the tea - I may break with my norm and drink some myself

No FBG, but have ordered test strips.
Massive stress day. My bank and OUR bank (having enventually got joint account) cannot, or will not, talk to each other, so it is not possible to transfer money between the two accounts!
This is making the house purchase next week more difficult than it needs to be.
Meanwhile MrSlim and our host are outside in the just above freezing weather finishing off the cladding on the new gîte kitchen.
Son3 and a close friend of MrSlim are visiting soon and I am trying to instil some order into what has become a rather cluttered space. We have rather more baggage than the average guest because the storage facility proved to be inadequate so the excess is all crowded into here.
My hostess was suggesting i help her with gardening. Umm maybe not in this weather...but if the sun comes out - I will probably feel obliged to do a little tidying up here and there.
Kiki got herself confined to her travelling crate for the second night in a row after she came and clawed at the bed in the very early hours. We cannot let her damage things and it's very difficult to stop her scratching. Have tried the spray but to little effect.

Hug for the trying times caused by the bank and storage facility. Kiki is, I guess, just being a cat bless her. I honestly never thought I'd write that about a cat so you cat lovers have mellowed me somewhat. On a positive note, you have ordered test strips, hopefully seeing son3 will be good and if the weather improves you always seem to enjoy gardening.

I don't know how you do it but the Art bit is brilliant. Loving it.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those who only look on the serious side of life.
My blood sugars morning were 5.7 , this was lucky for me as I had a series of blood tests this morning and I had to drive myself to the surgery for said tests.

When I went in see the feel my bottomist, as I call the phlebotomist, because I can’t spell phlebotomist, said they want a lot of your blood, and they did. Now back in Tilehurst Towers and due a pre lunch nap if Mrs J allows…….

Have the best day you can. Whoops I’m just about to be napped zzzzzzz
