What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

This is very beautiful @dunelm

I went to collect my meds from the pharmacy, but alas even though I had put them in over a week early, because of Monday, the pharmacy have not made them up yet...
It'll take us an hour and a half to make up that lot, she said.
So I am in a cafe next door having a breakfast..
I am now eyeing the cakes.
Still 3/4 hour to go...

Oh no! The hospital have canceled my cataract operation for Monday, they have sent me a new date for Thursday.

I had booked, hotel accommodation from Sunday night so I would be refreshed for the operation on Monday through to Wednesday morning. Because son is allergic to cats and so that's how we were organizing it until I was fit enough to go home.

Now I have a nightmare to sort out...

I hope those meds are ready when I go in the pharmacy....

What a pain in the neck, Gennepher. You really could do without all the hassle that your Welsh NHS seems to put you through. Can you rearrange the hotel booking and the care for all the cats?

I am still waiting for my medicines to be made up.
I will be home within a half an hour and I am going to see what I can sort from this mess
Thank you

Morning all on a grey, cold Friday here. I have had my peanut butter and Jarlsberg - pre and post steroids and antibiotics because one needs food first and both taste foul - so until salmon later it is just tumbleweed blowing down main street. Perchance a keto blueberry muffin may enliven the day. @Krystyna23040 good news on the root canal process. @gennepher I gave an optimistic for your chances of getting the meds on time and ability to resist the cakes. Now the cataract procedure is altered the cakes probably seem more attractive. Thanks for sharing today's creative. @dunelm thank you for sharing today's art. I don't really like any of the colours individually but together they work. Like Heston's Christmas pudding with clementine, individually completely avoidable but in combination splendid even though it is still Christmas pudding. Not my thing but of its kind very much as good as it could be, cleverly thought out and executed by someone with real talent. Shame February and LC don't work that way. Enjoy your Friday your way.

Thank you, Ian
I am just proceeding to the cake counter. I will not take a blood glucose reading tomorrow...

Thank you @ianpspurs. February - so overrated but that keto blueberry muffin will save the day until that salmon swims along.

Hi all, I haven't fallen off the wagon, but Thursdays are just manic. Fbg was 14.6 yesterday and 13.4 today. Nothing I can explain away... Stepping up the insulin, two units at at time, if my levels are above target three days in a row.
Work is bleurgh! The bosses have moved the goalposts on the data reconciliation twice this week... I'm covering for the clerical assistant this afternoon, so I will be logging the mail, thankfully there's not much.
I'm still arguing with them about whether my podiatry appointments should be paid time off or not. The policy says "preventative medical treatment" and I argue it is preventative as without it I am at risk of sepsis, amputation, possible death. They argue that it is treatment of a wound, therefore remedial, and "appointments should be made at the beginning or end of the day to minimise disruption." Do the writers of these policies have any idea how the NHS actually works?!
Roll on 5 o'clock!

Trying to get back on the wagon
Fbg 12.5 via CGM
HB1a1C and time in range both not good either.
Welcome @Peanut234. Have a song. Everyone here has been there, done that and got the tee-shirt. Hang on in there and stick around, you'll find so many friends and so much help here. Obviously not from me, I'm the official village idiot. Sorry The Alfs - you're all fired

Lost my money for the accommodation. If the hospital had told me 12 hours ago, then I could've cancelled the room and it would not have cost me anything..

Now I am trying to arrange for a transfer of the dates in the same place . I'm allowed to make one attempt at a transfer.

But the automated message says they cannot confirm for 24 hours.

So me back online looking for an email address where I can 'talk' to a real person . Explained to them why and requested the transfer again from that email.

Someone will contact you shortly it said . And I think that is the best I can do for the moment.

Where's the silver cloud in all this?
I have to assume that him upstairs knows Thursday will be a better date for the operation for me for whatever reason...
With that belief, I am now going to have a sleep.

@ianpspurs A bit of trivia did you know Professor Brian Cox actually wrote that song when when he was a member of the band D:Ream.
Thanks John. I knew he played keyboards but my illegal immigrant, transgender loving AI seems to think Peter Cunnah and Jamie Petrie wrote the song. Let's call that fake news and condemn AI for its illegitimate and baseless actions. Everyone will love our plan.

Did you resist the temptation @gennepher

That is so annoying @gennepher

Thank you @ianpspurs. Stage 2 treatment is now booked for April..
