What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Happy Anniversary John!!! Wishing you and family tons of happiness. That Indian dinner sounds so yummy. I haven’t dared to touch a naan in months. once i feel strong and confident i will give myself the luxury of one piece a month or so!!! have a great Sunday

6.6 this morning at 7.30. 21.8g of carbs yesterday. Barbeque on the beach resulted in 112g fat and 128g protein. I think I'll cut down on the protein today.
Ah, protein and how much. This article may be helpful - or not. http://www.zoeharcombe.com/2018/02/protein-by-kevin-handreck/
Re Zoe Harcombe perhaps @DJC3 @Goonergal or other PHC conference attendees can clarify for me if she ever made it clear which letter of her matrix she advocates because I got the impression she never said (I have a horrible suspicion I won't like the answer)
@JohnEGreen congratulations to you and (Judith?) and a perfect choice of hymn for today afaic. A secular companion song for you could be Elbow

Better late than never #HAPPY BIRTHDAY @HarrisonK !!

FBG 5.9 could be worse considering the protein pigout yesterday evening was.
Raining all day for several days past and future but at least cool. Rain is normal for mid-May here anyway.
@SaskiaKC Happy Mother's Day (you did say "kids" somewhere?)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, if you are neither then go fly a kite hehehehe.

Again a 5.6 for me this morning, but I must say a betterer behaved reading this morning. No breaking wind and running out of the back door sniggering.

Well folks some good news, this could be my last posting on this site for a week or so.
Pet lovers run amok, post your pictures, do your worst, but a gentle warning I'll be back with a whole load of new pet recipes.
Enjoy your day(s).
Steak for dinner tonight, not saying if it's dead cow steak or pet rhinosaurus or pet panda. Mind you next door is missing one of his pet crocodiles.

good afternoon all

was 4.9 this morning

The sun has currently got his hat on so hopefully we'll get a nice walk with mum's little dog later. Just been having a second go with the whey protein powder in the sponge recipe, still a bit too much liquid but better than last time ginger spiced sponge to go with some rhubarb and greek yoghurt for pudding today.

Mr gee and I had a lovely walk yesterday around the golf course and back along the shore path in Dornoch, then had a look around the museum which was having an open day, very enjoyable.

@JohnEGreen congrats to both

@ianpspurs interesting article thank you, I'm taking it that I am eating within a reasonable range of protein currently given my age, that's my story and I'm sticking to it I found that a bit more protein rather than a bit more added fat suits me better and my blood tests seem fine so far.

Hope your day is treating you gently everyone

I love crocodile meat there really is a crocodile farm which sells its own produce just up the road from where we are now.

@geefull , your blood tests are way better than fine - humblebragging anyone? The more protein versus more fat route would, I think, suit me better, especially reading point 10 . I watched the live stream from the PHC yesterday and this guy (Malhotra) seemed. shall we say, to probably do as he advised compared to one or two who looked like a pre-diet dad bod. This WOE - https://www.diabetesonthenet.com/uploads/resources/07e6c75960b299ac5a0233b0f0709fc3.pdf but especially the outdoor work idea seems likely to suit me better IMHO although I can't find any love for walking per se. From snippets of your life it seems very close to how you roll. Enjoy your day

6.2 on another rainy morning -- this one is going to stay plan-less and I am going to leave the phone turned off! The KittenCat let me sleep in 'til 8:30, when she woke me demanding brekky -- by the time I rolled out of bed and stumbled into the kitchen and put out more food, I was wide awake -- and THEN she wanted to go back to bed! ^. .^

@zauberflote thank you for the sweet thought -- nope, no kids here (thankfully!) You may remember the former TV commercial this came from ... one year I found my mother the "perfect" card. She did not drink beer but she did grow roses, and the card had a lovely pink rosebud on the front and inside it said "This bud's for you!"

What are those lovely flowers at the foot of that cool tree?

I have only seen plants like most of those in greenhouses -- and yours are in the great outdoors, which is much nicer. What are the tall large-leafed ones along the fence line?

This is one reason I am thinking of moving from the city to a small town ... I want to be able to go out and walk in grass and be with trees and other plants. The place I am thinking about ... I might even be able to see deer sometimes.

Am late again reporting in. 4.7 this morning. Lancashire Air must be good for me! I have finished trawling the highways and byways of the Burnley area. I managed to find a couple of parks, a couple of swimming pools and an ice cream farm with 30+ flavours.
Back home to dogs washing and work prep and sunshine why couldn't we have had that yesterday instead of the showers. Sunshine would have made me look more favourably on some of the places we visited.
Enjoy the remainder of the day

Thanks. I agree small town with more greeery and outdoor spaces would be so nice. And deers!!! Wow!!

The big trees - Actually i have no idea. Let me take a closer photo and see if google can help to identify

Hi @SaskiaKC agree about the loveliness of @Shas3 garden...just the right size for me! Today OH and I went for a long walk in a deer park and it was so enjoyable. The herds were all in one place and we didnt get too close, they were fallow deer. It was Petworth House and Park in West Sussex allegedly where Prince Charles first met Lady Diana Spencer. There are a few of us on this thread mulling over moving atm and we were discussing on our walk how moving has been hugely exciting when we were younger but in older years there are too many practicalities to consider to make it so. Hope you find what is right for you and the KC.

That reminds me of one of my favorite books, Winter Solstice.

What kind of hat has the sun got on?

I have seen photos of fallow deer. They are lovely. I love their antlers. Here we have white-tail deer. Lovely too, like all deer.
