For clarification I am not anti LCHF. I do detest the whole tenor both on here and from proponents of LCHF that any criticism is purely bad science funded by big pharma, the food industry or the medical profession not listening to the truth or the fake news media. Managing T2 diabetes by LC has become the new elite world view and no dissent will be tolerated. That really helps no one.
After being thrilled at my below 6.0 fasting sugar level this morning, I go to Starbucks (I usually go to a local coffee chain, but made an exception today) and order a Caffe Latte and the lovely lady hears me as Caramel Latte and gives me a drink... and I walk out happily and take my first sip and go EWWWWWWWWW...… I wasn't sure if I should chuck the 3$ beverage (well, where I live, 3$ gets you a tall drink!) or just walk longer after the sugar rush.... Well, I had some of the drink.... Bottom line, I am avoiding Starbucks … or at least tell the lady clearly next time and make sure I double check exactly what she gives me!!!! Not happy, but well…. and I will go back to my local coffee chain, I guess.....
Woke up 6:30 this morning from a horrible science fiction dream where someone suddenly put me in a white (ball) bubble suit (?) I am completely enclosed but there is a clear window to see through. But no one else is, and others look aghast. It is difficult moving in a bubble because I cannot use my legs. Then the man puts something through the clear plastic into my mouth and everything goes black. A short while later in the nightmare I am still alive but still in bubble.
Then the real life bathroom beckons very urgently, and I stumble out of bed groggily, still in the dream...
I am still shaking from that nightmare, but manage to take a fbg reading...
8.1
Blimey that is lowest fbg in awhile (or forever, I haven’t got my log book in bed).
With black coffee and chocolate now. (I found the missing coffee in grocery shopping in car boot yesterday, it got left there with the fiasco with the drain repair people.)
I am still shaking from that nightmare. Going to make a second coffee. All I want to do is sleep, but I am not closing my eyes again.
There is sun just touching the tops of trees in the garden. As soon as I come to properly I am out there...
Take care. Hope all your dreams were beautiful ones, and that Father Nightmare did not visit you.

Thanks PM...a spot on result for me...so not back there for another three weeks...also found my favourite prosecco still on offer so bought a couple of bottles...feeling pleased with myself on this beautiful sunny day...on the way home roof down...foot down off we went... now a coffee in the garden with 'Plumpy' who just loves to sunbathe.wishing you well for good results in your individual tests.
ian I find it difficult to believe you are not anti low carb given the tenor of your posts on the failure of low carb to deliver the BG & other results you aspire to...not dissimilar to the proponents of LCHF you detest & complain about so regularly.Managing T2 diabetes by LC has become the new elite world view and no dissent or even helpful, evidence based, criticism will be tolerated. That really helps no one.
Shas I am certain you did not intend to offend with this post...however I feel offended since I do advocate a LCHF approach to my diabetes management...I have no objection to any other T2 diabetic trying an alternative regime...I would never subscribe to cult behaviour...never push my views on others...I recognise there are alternative methods of diabetes control...if asked for advice on how I control my BG I would happily give it...I applaud all diabetics doing their level best to manage their diabetes whichever method they use...lets not blame or judge surely we face enough criticism from those not living with or ignorant of this condition.ndeed i have felt that proponents of LCHF can sound like practitioners of a cult where dissent is, sadly not tolerated.
You are fully entitled to your opinion and I absolutely respect everyone else who shares that view. It will surprise no one that I reiterate that I am not anti LCHF I am ambivalent and aware it has limitations. I would like to feel there was room for more nuanced views of the efficacy of LCHF for every T2.ian I find it difficult to believe you are not anti low carb given the tenor of your posts on the failure of low carb to deliver the BG & other results you aspire to...not dissimilar to the proponents of LCHF you detest & complain about so regularly.

Accepted ShasSo Sorry!!
Ouch...yuck...you know immediately don't you?
In future chuck something that doesn't taste right or too much sugar.
I drink/eat it because I have paid good money for it. But I won't in the future. It is not worth it.
Hugs x

Frequently would be nearer the mark but I accept I have probably over egged the pudding at times. Again, surely there is room for nuance in this issue?I agree ian since you tell us that daily.

I would have taken it back in and told the harista of her mistake.
