What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A bit peed off calling my surgery to ask why my medication has not been authorised yet...we have a new system there instead of a face to face review you now complete a form & hand it in...I did that a week ago heard nothing yet and no authorisation...now waiting on the phone so far only 5 minutes...I'' do an update as & when the phone is answered...while waiting I checked the appointments just in case there was one free...the first non-emergency appointment is five weeks away in 2020...now been waiting for a reply for almost ten minutes...finally an answer almost fifteen minutes & I will have to wait for them to get back to me...we all want to be (considered) reasonable but the comes a time when you have to stamp the proverbial foot!

It is only going to get worse I fear....hope your proverbial foot stamping gets somewhere. Those mince pies look amazing...quality control very important

They are beautiful @PenguinMum
Both look very well behaved!

Popeye is eyeing up my breakfast at the mo. He cleans out the boiled egg shells and the butter I put in them...
They have slowed up a bit this year, definitely fair weather cats. Both will be 7 in 2020. No game of Bop the Bauble so far this year.

Glad to hear Archie got a good report, hope your appointment goes well. Must admit I struggle for 24 hours after injection.

7.8 on this rainy morning. I spent most of yesterday stamping feet on the phone and must stamp on more today. So far I have talked with a local reporter, a couple of legal advisory organizations, the director of this building, and the local HUD office -- federal dept. of Housing and Urban Development. No help from any of them so today I am going to try the state bar association, the church with which this community is affiliated, and HUD HQ, in Washington. Exhausting, and of course I was awake this morning before the sun was up, and now that I have to get back to work, I am sleepy.

@PenguinMum and @Krystyna23040 best wishes for the eye injections.
@PenguinMum well done on the photos of the girlcats! They are lovely.
@Krystyna23040 I hope everything will go well regarding Archie's pad.

@gennepher thank you for posting the lovely photos, and the steps you take to post pics.

@Muddy Cyclist I love your hat. It reminds me of my horse show hat.

@HarryBeau the double-sided tape I use has kept the KittenCat from sharpening her claws on my sofa. The coco fiber mat a former neighbor gave us has helped too -- she now uses it exclusively.

This mornings fbg was 5.4 I must admit after years of being relatively very low carb I have decided to up the amount of carbs I.m allowing my self to 130 grams per day though I have not actually gone that high but am giving myself some latitude while still keeping a weather eye out on BG and weight.

Delicious irony for me today is the report that Wetherspoons are serving up pigs in blankets to their customers sans the blankets citing difficulty with meat suppliers the meat industry is saying the shortage to a great degree is due to a lack of migrant workers.

Only problem is I am particularly fond of bacon.

So hot cocktail sausages then?

Poor lady, what must go through her mind in the wee small hours when the worries loom so much larger? It sounds like a lovely friendly village you live in though, and the support of everyone there will help her enormously.

Thanks for your concern I’m still not absolutely sure about the egg intolerance ( or Im in denial) - I’ve been itchy for about a month and haven’t been able to figure out why. No change in washing detergent, shampoo, soap etc but the itching has been driving me to distraction - raised red bumps which just appear randomly for a few hours then disappear then return somewhere else. It was my daughter, looking on good old Google Sunday night who first suggested it might be eggs. Tbh I nearly cried( ever the drama queen!) but thought the only way to find out is by giving them up for a bit. She said, sympathetically it’s seems so unfair when you’ve given up so much already’ which was sweet of her but I really don’t mind that much about the starchy food. I mind about eggs though. Still, I would rather do without than scratch my skin off which I was almost at the stage of doing!

Sudden reactions like that are hard to fathom. I guess the only way to find out is not eating eggs for a period of time and if trouble free try reintroducing them again and see what happens. I really feel for you as I too love eggs in all their forms, quick to cook and LC. BUT as you say if they are the culprit then its not wise to have them. I wonder if non hens eggs would be the same. Hoping the best for you. Hugs.

Hope you get the results you so deserve.

That is a beautiful poem. Thank you for posting it.
I hope you are out having a lovely dinner with your Tesco group.
Thank you. It was a carvery. Festive menu had to be pre ordered so out of luck there. Turkey on the carvery and but 2 get 2nd half price so win win. It was lovely and everyone enjoyed it. I had Turkey and veg. The others the same, plus Yorkshire puds, mash and roasties which I expected as same happened last year. Lovely evening.

For a moment I wandered off to mince pie heaven. Thank you.....

Knowing how you like emojis, I looked for a @JohnEGreen model of a one-horse open sleigh on its way to a Tesco, but the closest I could find was an animal of a different species, and a different vehicle -- perhaps @Muddy Cyclist and some of the automotively-gifted members here could help me figure out a way to hitch the two together? --

5.7 - a reflection of pub carvery dinner. Turkey, lots of veg and onion gravy which no doubt had flour in. 2 glasses of red.

Just back from a Christmas lunch with 2 ladies I used to work with on the last census. We have remained friends ever since. Met at The Farmers Arms in Great eccleston. Very nice pub. Lovely lunch and catch up.

Tonight I feel like setting up Christmas table. And more presies to wrap (well I should say supervise wrapping!). I am head of procurement, team of 1 (me). Eric is chief packer (team of 1, just him). I'm going to try and sneak his presies in so I wont have any wrapping to do at all.

Brilliant!

Just remembered...take a look at the cat anti scratching tape for sofas etc on Amazon. My sofas are beyond saving but when we move and get new ones will defo try it.

Wonder if it’d work for puppy chewing too. I’ve tried the spray stuff but he just licks it off. This chair as you can see is bu**ered the greyish horizontal line used to be a tasselled fringe thing, which lasted approx 2 minutes after Dennis saw it ( old fashioned I know - it was my dads chair) then he set about destroying the rest of it.

@PenguinMum Bobs and Daisy are beautiful, such glossy coats too they are obviously very well cared for.
@Krystyna23040 I’m glad Archie’s foot was nothing too worrying. Fingers crossed for your eye injection ( and for yours on Friday too @PenguinMum - that’s come round quickly again)
@HarryBeau what a wonderful Christmas feast you prepared, lucky workmates! You did very well to stop at a couple. Hope you don’t have to stamp too hard at the vets.
Good luck with your stamping too @SaskiaKC I’m exhausted reading your list of people and organisations who are not helping you at all by the sounds of it. Good luck with the next round, don’t give up.

Thank you..that will bethe Saisburys Tuna in Spring water which is the ONLY one they will accept! Have you seen my post earlier about the Libre?
