Thanks for the hugs etc
Update
11:45am approx 2 1/4 hrs since breakfast and no insulin my blood sugars were 8.2 .
So what have I learnt from this, perhaps I should have had 10 units of insulin, but in reality 8.2 is not that bad just slightly over " normal " levels.
Onwards and upwards on the never ending learning quest.
Remember have fun, we pass this life but once unless we are Buddhists or so I have been told, if that is true then I shall become a Buddhist and can I return as a bra? I have always wanted a supporting role in life.
Applies to you as well young man. Go well.Much respect for you attitude to life..much to teach me and others i think.
Morning All. 5.8 and defo still learning. Yesterday was a strange one insofar as I had fbg 6.5 ate brunch of bacon & eggs and then nothing for 8 hours but at 6pm I tested 5.8 which surprised me. I am doing my best most of the time but I dont control this, I try to, it controls me. Profound but I guess many of you feel the same. But on I go.
Monday already and last week of January. Lots of very satisfactory cupboard clearing out yesterday with Mr PM as usual found surprising items. Hoping to go on the market next month but we need new facias and soffits after a battering by the weather in the last 6 months.
Have a great Monday if you can. Stay well, stay safe.
Thanks @ianpspursWinner for the art and sheer refusal to be cowed by anything or anyone. Real "have at" approach to life. Now rest, meditate and inspire us again when you are ready.
Hugs for the dry throat issues and the frustration of the tinned fruit dilemma. It is so unfair I am mad on your behalf. Does it work if you avoid the juice? Or maybe have smaller quantities? Probs no help at all just wish you could solve it.
Thank you for today’s painting. It instantly reminded me of the path to the beach from a house we holidayed at once. Take care Gennepher and have a good day.
Thank you @DJC34.9 today. Sharply rising within a few mins to 5.7 when I realised the time (8:45) which is much later than usual and poor Dennis’ bladder would be bursting. Libre showed an arrow pointing straight up ( rapid rise). In the great scheme of things this isn’t really a stressful situation so it just goes to show what effect proper stress could have.
@alf_Josiah I hope you manage to juggle your meds and considerable health problems to get back into a safe zone and stop frightening the postman.
@gennepher I think today’s painting is my favourite so far. I like the idea of light at the top of the stairs better than light at the end of the tunnel, more of a sense of achievement when you get there. I hope you can find a way to ease your dry mouth without eating sugary stuff, what a choice! I’m full of admiration for you refusing to just accept more diabetic meds.
@dunelm yes, agree about the black coffee. I’ve surprised myself by finding it as satisfying and enjoyable as CWC.
&PenguinMum good luck with the house marketing. Things are meant to be looking up but we haven’t had a realistic offer on ours yet.
Mmhh..beginning to suspect you are NOT who you say you are...?
i NEVER see you and HIM, together..
So call me mad.....BUT are YOU Clint Eastwood*...???
Much respect for your attitude to life..much to teach me and others i think.
(meant to reflect an 'Older' person not so set in their ways they can't adapt to life & move forward, deffo NOT one for giving in and willing to stand up for themselves, and others regardless)
*Recommended movie..don't judge it.
at best a gritty reality..Korean vet, sees too many die..dislikes the neighbours, until.
Slow yet smouldering as it builds to the end
GRAN TORINO..(left subtitles in, not sure it that will appear in link, but can be added on viewing.)
IMDB rate it HIGHLY 8.1

There has been a major exodus from Much Carbing to Little Carbing. Reportedly due to the craft ale Ketobrew in the local hostelry the Tee2 Arms and the live music from the Carnivores - some of their early tunes were, admittedly, Offal. With all these houses going on the market and all these hopes of moving someplace better, I wish we could all follow one of @gennepher 's paths or cross one of @Muddy Cyclist 's seas to a village we could all live in that we could call McGarrett on the Plain, or perhaps Cream in Coffee. Other names available*.

Little Sticking
would that not be natural..?
assuming our bodies NEED a certain amount of everything, or we'd die.
it just takes care of business quietly so we can go about ours.
i see it as it works when it has to ..pre v post meals..
and when it has nothing to do..as in fasting..it just keeps the engine ticking over in case it's needed later.
If you will, pre dx we bounced of the walls damaging ourselves each time as we desperately looked for ways to stay within our own corridor of safety.
When finally we get a little guidance and a better understanding of just WHAT signifies safety..
we bounce off the walls less.
and THAT improves each day as we eat better and take better care.
Although stress, illness, etc can impact and send us off kilter, until we right the boat and begin our journey one more time.
And for me, YOUR corridor of safety was safely traversed..so a WIN for you.

Yes you are right and though it reminded me so much of that path I confess we never used it in the dark. Re your reply to @DJC3 I think one of the frustrating things with treatment is when they dont consider whats best for all your ailments.Thank you @PenguinMum
I need the juice as well, that is what helps too.
I had a very small portion last night, so obviously that didn’t work either.
Glad you liked the painting. Some of those paths down cliffs to the beach are very overgrown by hawthorn and blackthorn and you feel you have no idea where you are going to end up...
You have a good day as well.
I was only thinking about skipping over the weekend and remembering all the hours of skipping as a child. So thanks for the sweet emoticon. Fascias and soffits are the boards between the roof and the walls to keep rain and small animals out and to which guttering is attached to feed the rainwater from the roof into the downpipes on the walls. I have three water butts that the pipes feed into which I use on the garden during dry spells. You are right, we don't control this condition. But I don't think it is really in control either. I do think you keep on keeping on very well.Jesus told Paul "It is hard to kick against the pricks." But I think we have to, when the results of the fingerpricks start to weigh us down.
BTW, what are facias and soffits?
Mither away to your hearts content @gennepher. Liked today's, reminded me of a Welsh slate path I know in Ogden Valley and a slate fence that runs along its side, you have caught the light so well.ButI am still here, to mither you all with my daily painting challenge...creaking gates last the longest...
Thats beautiful dont know how you could do that in 10 mins. Amazing and thank you. Yourself and @gennepher have certainly made grey January more bearable with your art.Mither away to your hearts content @gennepher. Back from a really good Muddy Work Out, 4 hours, my friend took some photos which he's supposed to send me but non arrived yet.
Busy learning Little Red Rooster for a gig, looked out of window to see this sunset behind some trees, a moment when the trees were back lit. A very quick watercolour 10 mins to capture the moment, A5 size.
