What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

******...6.6. had a 2.5 hypo at 1030 last night and the carbs I took screwed my morning numbers. OK 6.6 not that bad but I'm usually around 4.5 ish.

Hi Natalie, you might like the book by dr r bernstein: diabetes explained 4 th edition, he explains about insulin and adjusting dose for various reasons , i have found his approach and info invaluable, clive
Good idea...I've got this book at home...might be worth a re-read. Giving myself a headache trying to figure out what's causing it...felt quite nauseous yesterday so barely ate anything and certainly nothing too carby which makes me think it's perhaps a bug or something...confused

5.3 this morning - been diagnosed 10 days (currently assuming Type II as have had pancreatitis twice)

On 1000 mg metformin - was diagnosed on 10.9 then 17.9 and a Hb1AC of 106

Both doctor and nurse were both in shock this morning - probably a blip - lets hope not - then my daughter, a diabetic nurse thinking I might be going the other way - can never keep everyone happy - I'm eating more now than I've done for years and still enjoying a small iced fresh orange with my meals
