What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I made a blackberry Clafoutis this week...low carb made with almond flour...used a sweetener...it was gorgeous...puddings are entirely possible Orson...and absolutely necessary IMHB

I have a couple of good recipes - a chocolate olive oil cake adapted from a Nigella recipe and a lemon zucchini cake. Both are delicious.

And thanks for the Clafoutis recipe. Looks fab.

Thank you @Bubsie I am currently putting together a low carb eating and recipes guide to be used as a resource hopefully on this site launched at a meet up event in Birmingham in September would you give permission for me to include this. If you do you would get an acknowledgement. Don’t worry if not just let me know

Shelley of course you can include it...I have no idea where the recipe came from originally...it's one that's been passed round by friends...yes do include it & don't worry about the credit...it's not important...good luck.

Thank you @Bubbsie I will include the credit though as think it’s important to show that it’s a resource from this forum which is an amazing group of supportative people. Thanks again

Gosh that dosnt sound good @Chronicle_Cat. Its very difficult to sort these things out at that age not to mention the fact its YOUR mum. Really hope you get something sorted out without too much stress for your mum and you and your family. All the best.

PenguinMum, it worked out relatively well. The head administrator of the long term care home got the dentist to visit today while I was there. The news was fairly good, no infection, no pain, no jagged edge and the partial plate still fits and it doesn't interfere with her chewing or bother her. She recommended against extraction and says it is unlikely to get infected. The denturist will visit soon to see if the dental bridge can be modified to add an extra tooth to replace the missing tooth (food will be less likely to collect there.) The dentist was wonderful with her (my mom lay on her bed to be examined) and has been providing service to the home for many years.

Thank you. Transferred to my trusty Copy Me That app and I ‘ll have a go this weekend with any luck.
It sounds wonderful.

Goodnight everyone.

The blackberry Clafoutis sounds lovely. I often get a smile about the British use of "pudding" for desserts. Here (like the US), a pudding is a very specific creamy dessert. (I myself like steamed puddings, they aren't common here. My dad is very proud of his Scottish heritage and from Nova Scotia so I probably am better acquainted with them than most people here. ) My mom who is originally an American (!) made lots of British puddings when I was younger...Eton Mess, Bakewell Tart, she had a particular fondness for fruit based ones.

It has also been a very hot & dry summer here. Global warming? Over 100 square kilometers of forest up north in my province is on fire (over 100 sq kilometers) in multiple wildfires that have been burning out of controlled for several weeks. We are hoping for rain.

I got home 10pm last night after only 4g of carbs all day (which wasn’t the plan but not a bad outcome), and my BG was 4.9 which is pretty low for me and I was hungry.
A had a couple of crackers and cheese and small nightcap, flipped open the laptop to catch up on some interesting threads on here I’d missed out on.
I awake today, too early, a bit foggy from the second nightcap which was maybe not as small as I thought and with a 6.1 as my reward.

Morning...in the sixes again...6.3 this morning despite a frugal day on the carbs...10.000 steps plus...I'm definitely suffering with this heat...surely it can't last much longer...sweltering already...all windows open & curtains closed.
