Our first snowfall this morning and I hear the weatherman says some parts of Canada is skipping autumn and going right into winter this year. Went out and bought myself an Moose Knuckle jacket (made in Canada!) so I am now ready for the cold winter.️️

That was yesterday today a different kettle of fish entirely.JohnGreen, 5.7 after a yummy dinner is perfect. I will be happy with that, so no worries. Mine would probably go up to 10.0 if I eat the same dinner. You have excellent blood sugar control.
Sorry to hear bloods are high BUT Chicken Provencal and olives - rather spiffingThat was yesterday today a different kettle of fish entirely.
Chicken Provençal with olives and bloods now @ 9.3 crazy isn't it.
Diabetes you just can't predict it.
Just got back from my doctor's. As soon as she came into the room, she told me "You are fantastic." My hb1ac was 5.6% (38) and everything else was well within the normal range (as it was before). I've lost a total of 39.9 lbs (18 kg) and I've lost 5" off my waist (I have dropped 2 clothing sizes).
We talked about carbs and I gave Dr. Unwin's article and some other materials, she's very supportive of low carb eating for diabetics. She knows that I got encouragement from my best friend (who is also her patient who brought her hb1ac down from 26% to a number even lower than mine). Our doctor now has 2 in her practice who've reduced their numbers with eating low carb. We also talked about why low fat/low calorie has not worked for me in the past and I told her that for the first time in my life, I have normal hunger.
She told me that her biggest challenge with getting patients to eat low carb is cultural, some of her patients are south Asian and their diet is very carb heavy. (I told her that I understood as my son-in-law is from south India and I referred her to a video with a British doctor of south Asian heritage who works with this population and has had success getting them to eat low carb or at least lower their carbs.)
Congratulations @Chronicle_Cat youve done so well and I’m also impressed that you are managing to work so well with your doctor I’m sure that that influence and information as well as your results will impact on her and lead to her supporting others. Well done you and thrilled that she agrees that”you’re fantastic” please accept a congratulatory hug from me.Just got back from my doctor's.
