What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morening all, family here for the weekend so have to be quick.
7.8 this morning.
Have a good one folks, Mrs J is watching me like a hawk and analysing everything I say because it's her family hehehehe, now I never said I was nice did I.

4.6 this morning which is right where I want to be (4.5 to 5.4) For a change, I fasted a bit longer (started with no dinner) to see if I could get my numbers under 5.5 as they've been running a bit higher for a week now. It seems to have helped and best of all, no reflux symptoms.

Back to normalish this morning 6.1 after a week of mainly 7 and 8. You think you understand the ratios, the changing seasons and then you realise .... no you don’t !
I have had a similar time recently - numbers edging up, a few things to put it down to, but a couple of days of really strict LCHF and focus on portion sizes and I'm heading back to normal (which for me is 5.8-6.2).

Early night for me
2 nasty hypos and feeling a bit out of sorts

Goodnight all have a pleasant Saturday evening
Wishing you a much better night, Cumberland and a good recovery.

@shelley262 some good ideas thanks. I dont ever eat breakfast until 8.30 and then it is just a flaxseed roll with butter and cup of tea which is virtually no carbs (2 maybe at most?). I could try eating less at supper time I suppose and defo no afters which for me might be small amount 85% or 90% choc or occasionally low cal jelly or Oppo. I just dont want to eat separately from my husband if I can help it so need to find a way so Diabetes doesnt spoil our evening catch up. Maybe more at lunch and less at dinner. You have given me food for thought lol!

Could you experiment at weekend - or when OH isn’t working late -eating dinner earlier and see if an impact before you shift stuff more?

@trick60 I live less than an hour from Winchester. It is a beautiful place except for the one way system! Have a safe journey and enjoy your day.
You are right about the one way system PenguinMum , more like a no way system. Grandaughter was impressed with the uni, very nice people there, all very arty farty though.

Will experiment a bit when I get home. I am afraid 8pm is the earliest we can eat together he often comes back later in which case I do try and eat separately.

Morning...bed at midnight after a great evening with friends for an impromptu dinner...a full on roast...lots & lots of laughing...lots of gin & tonic...more laughing...woke to a very forgiving 6.2...phew!

was so proud of myself yesterday afternoon for avoiding all bad food at a party buffet. Only to then be out for a curry on the night and totally caved and ended up sharing some of my daughters naan. Two outings in a day involving food is clearly too much temptation for me. So a 5.7 this morning feels like a win!
