What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

woke up at 4.30am feeling weird, did BS 10.9 high again! :? staggered downstairs for drink , drank it n crashed back to sleep again! Am bit achey in my back and joints this morn... Anna.
 
Morning all...

Been away on business for a few days but good to be back in my own bed!

4.2 mmol/l on getting up at 06:30 and 4.2 mmol/l again at 10am so all good..

Anna..by chance have you checked your BG's through the night? would be interested to see what they do.. when are you last eating? have you tried a carb-free snack before bed? you might find that stops the morning rises... also I note you are on Levemir? what time do you inject?
 
hi, you 'cant' beat your own bed can you! Only check my BG if waken up like last night, rarely nibble pre-bedtime take small water bottle up with me. inject victoza 7pm n levemir 10am. As am never an early bird and always eat at 11am everyday. Oh only nibble 'if' am reading a book or a magazine n take a chopped up granny smith apple to munch on. [I love them!] Anna.
 
Anna...

You may find that the Levemir is not active for the whole 24 hours this may be why towards the end of the dose you are getting a raise in blood sugar... combined with your bodies natural release of early morning hormones this could be causing you high morning blood sugars...

You may want to look at changing your dose time to the evening to ensure you cover this morning period, or you could look at splitting the dose between morning and night?

Also is your eating pattern regular? or do you eat a couple of large meals?
 
Didnt test this morning but I did test just before my lunch time sandwich at 1.00pm and recorded 5.1 mmol/L. Might have a ginger nut with my afternoon tea

5.2 this morning.

When people post food things on here it always makes me extra hungry, thanks to Anna and Sid i now fancy an apple and a biscuit. Best not ruin my tea!! :wink:

It takes me a while to get home so i'm going out early and getting home late so i'm not posting here as much

well I resisted temptation! chicken and veg curry with a little rice for my dinner...

But on the positive side I do believe I have had my best ever day of blood sugar control today, certainly in the last six months checking back on my older data now so am pleased as punch!
 
I didn't resist temptation and had a bag of revels! yummy.

My problems has never been sweets its always been savoury carbs like cheese and onion pasties... yummy

Anyway 4.9 mmol/l for me this morning
 
4.9 for me too fasting which I am pleased about.
Not so pleased though with 7.0 2 hours after breakfast of yoghurt and berries. They had added sugar which I washed off but obviously that doesn't work. Won't have that any more.
 
Well done on your fasting level, Daisy! I was 5.0 at 08:30. I eat breakfast at about 10:00, and today I've had 50g Lizi's Granola - supposed to be approx 24g carb, so I'll watch my later readings with interest!

Hi everyone, my BG 9.9 this morning, slept well too. Was out with our daughter last night late home! Anna.x
 
Two mornings, yesterday 4.1 and this morning 5.0. It has been persssssssistantly p....ouring down with rain for the last few days. Our street is awash and it is freezing. Being a low carb couch vegetable... Would I be a celeriac perhaps?

Do you know we could nearly be twins!! Everytime I look on here and see your morning reading it is so close to mine it is quite scary!! :shock:
I was 5.1 this morning at 6.15am and for most of the last week or so I have followed a similar trend to you with the 4's and 5's.
Wonder what we will be tomorrow???? :lol:
