What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good morning!. Four pre breakfast readings! I woke up at 3.45 am, my upper back being a bit clammy and the reading was 4.1. Fifteen minutes later with a little glucose, 4.3. Fifteen minutes later with more glucose, 4.7 and took even more glucose together with a couple of seeded oatcakes. I didn't take a fourth reading and went back to sleep. I woke up at 9.30 am and took another reading, 6.3 and had my usual breakfast.

I take my Lantus (six units) at 10 pm.

Asparagusp, could that clammy back be anxiety? 4.1 is still within range for type 2 diabetes. You are still at a low level of insulin and seem to be responding well. There is a free course on hypos on the homepage of this site. It is on the bottom right corner pull down menu.
Why did you take the seeded oatcakes with 4.7 reading? Were you hungry? The target fasting glucose range for type 2 is 4.0 to 7.0. Unless you have another metabolic condition that causes your numbers to be skewed (like hemochromotosis-which is a genetic iron storing defect that I have which makes my numbers read higher than they actually are) 4.7 is okay for sleeping. 5.0 is recommended for driving but 4.7 is okay for sleeping. Just keeping to a regular routine and keeping stress down as much as possible also helps with good control. Stress can increase your blood sugar because cortisol is released into your blood stream when you are stressed. You are doing well-be happy-don't worry!
