What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Having just finished having tooth issues, I sympathize. Can't help with the metformin reaction as I don't take meds, what dentist did say when he finally removed the problem teeth was that I might hypo apparently due to too much adrenaline floating around in my body. I didn't react at all that I am aware of but if you have the tooth extracted, its maybe something to watch out for.

Bloods seem to be stabilising somewhat now that my recent issues are resolved. FBG this morning was 5.4. Hey, hey! On the downside I got a text from my GP surgery telling me my annual review was due and to make an appointment. Er no! Its not due until end of June and used to be July so I think there will be some delaying tactics going on on my part. Currently I am estimating A1c average to be high pre-diabetic due to stress and infection issues which have been having a negative impact. I know its a 3 month average so cannot achieve my "normal" expectations, but as the A1c is weighted towards the last couple or 3 weeks (I think) so I can improve things slightly. Won't be contacting docs until I am forced to.
 
As a long-time Metformin user, I know of no interactions with antibiotics, with the single exception of cephalexin. This cephalosporin may enhance the blood glucose lowering effects of metformin, so users will need to test BGs more often.
 
Hid the BG meter at back of cupboard weeks, possibly months ago. Just couldn’t hack it any more.
In meantime, have holidayed, worked harder than ever in voluntary jobs, had antibotics x3 courses for infection in finger nail matrix. Very ouchy! Still is. Not able to do my usual water exercise, and had some brutal physiotherapy for arthritic joints.
Enough whinging, though. (Ashamed to say haven’t checked in here for quite some time), and catching up will take for ever, so just wishing you all well, especially those who have been under the weather, more than I have, but have kept on keeping on.

Right, back to business, found the meter, not sure if strips are out of date, but used it and scored a fasting 7.3. . I probably should mention here the carb creep when not testing. So, disciplined testing and low carb / keto here I am.
