What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.2 Do I need to do this everyday? My number is always the same and strips are expensive!
No, it's not obligatory, Helen.
I do it every day because it keeps me on track, gives me focus for the day and I find it motivational. The other members' support is also a big boost during the challenging times, and I like to give that back where I can.
But we all have freedom of choice. :)

My morning reading tend to between 6 and 7. I know this isn't bad but I would like it more between 5-6. Im type 1. Any advice would be great as I'm only 1 month into this.
I don't know very much about T1, but I'm guessing the principle is the same for all of us. Keep persevering, be patient, and you'll get where you want to be in the end.
You're doing well - allow yourself to appreciate that, and stick with it! :)

What value do you usually go to sleep at? You might need to adjust your bolus for your meals, or more likely adjust your basal dose. This depends on a lot of factors though so the more info you share, the better advice you'll get. :) Do you carb count, do you know your i:c rate, what is your basal regime?

Hello, thanks for the reply. I use 8units of Glargine before bed, then I have varying ratios throughout the day for my Novorapid to be taken with food. The evening ratio is 0.3 units to 10g. It's worked in stopping my evening hypos before bed. My dietitian has advised I be around 7-8 mmol before bed but I found this hard to achieve and made my mornings high. At the moment the difference between bedtime and fasting on a morning is just 0.5+ or -. I am carb counting also.

Thanks again. X

7.1 @6.10am. An improvement on yesterday. Off to walking football this morning, let's see what that does to it (after the obligatory rise before breakfast, of course)!

Well, pre-breakfast rise was only 0.4 mmol, so up to 7.5. Forgot my meter so no post-breakfast or pre/post exercise numbers to report, but down to 6.0 before lunch.

depends , at the moment I am too tired after being ill, so I do really a lot of biking yesterday like at level 6 : 2.5 hours, and then a hand bike level 11 ; for 45 minutes and then step maschine 70 minutes at level 7... if very energetic I can do it a lot faster on higher levels... besides that I do weight/resistance excercise for legs arms stomach and back , with a lot of breaks in between for like 5 minutes and one of 10 minutes..

Wow! That's a lot - something to aim for!
