Personally with BG levels in that range KOT...the once in a while treat won't do you too much damage...if you walk afterwards...will help limit any rise

If only that were true!!!! I didnt take my bag with.me, so.forgot to take my bgl. Took it when I got home, 3 hrs after eating that delicious scone. 8.4. Thats 8.4 after3 hours and a very long walk!!!!!. Dont think I'm cured!!

Happy Day für alle an diesem eiskalten Tag. Möge die Wärme deiner Herzen dich durchschauen. This morning I lit a diabetic fire in my house as it is 2°C outside As my furniture burned the flames made a spooky looking 4.2 in the early morning sky. My blood sugars are 4 2mmols. The fire brigade have arrived and said they will not tolerate me arson around. Have a wonderful day to all. Wrap up well as it is gonna be a cold one.

Good morning all

Morning sugars at 5,7 mmol/l after usual 5km walk

Unlike last night, which was terrible with a blocked nose because of my cold giving me very restless sleep, yesterday was terrific.

To be honest any day when I get to spend it travelling out of Nicosia with friends would be terrific in my books. One of the advantages of living in a small place like Cyprus, as I do, is that less than an hour's drive can mean a complete change of scenery. From Urban Nicosia located in the flat central plane to a beach on the coast, or as was the case yesterday to one of the two mountain ranges, with quaint small villages and pine forests.

We were there to have lunch with friends at this small taverna.

What we did not count on was how different the weather would be. While a few miles away Nicosia was sunny and dry here it was overcast with clouds which quickly released heavy showers. So we were not able to do much exploring being confined to the shelter of our restaurant.

Our compensation was the magnificent twin rainbow that appeared as we were travelling back down.

I leave you with this photo of my wife and me taken during yesterday's lunch.

I had posted it on a Facebook and an aunt actually rang me to say that she was relieved to see it as she had heard that I had lost a lot of weight and looked really terrible as a result!

One of the bad things about living in a small place like Cyprus is that too many people take an interest in your affairs and usually think they know better than you do what you should or not be doing and are not shy to say so. I guess at least my aunt did it out of concern.

Apologies for the length of this post.

OOh dear KOT...I did say 'would limit any rise'...was the scone unaccompanied?...not with its usual co-conspirator...fresh fruit jam...one diversion from the path of low carb virtuousness is permissible...firmly believe the occasional rebellion is necessary...sometimes obligatory.

Fabulous photos as usual pav
