What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

4.7 libre: fingerprick 5.4
yesterdays dsn telephone appt over 2 hours late :/

well apparently lada. been told to expect a rather sudden change explained akin to turning off a lightbulb. zero advice given for how to try to extend honeymoon period. been told not to worry about glucose levels being low unless sub 2.5 then "maybe treat if shakey sweating or other symphons other than hunger? They might arrange bloods to do be done 6 months or upto a year depending on cgm data not the dsn decision rather the consultants on what they wish to do. dsn doesnt have access to the c-peptide results, says doesn't matter in any event was just done to 'double check' that body still producing insulin to confirm cgm data. They're not concerned with weight loss. currently 67.85Kg down another 2kg in 2 weeks total weight loss since january over 20kg. DSN has said spikes in morning can't do anything about. but by lunchtime onwards obvious can handle more carbs and almost within 'normal' expected results. Wants me to stop putting in 'detailed records' on the libre app. no need to know what ate, just carbs is fine. Dont need to put 'normal' exercise walks/exercise.

to me building up info on what body can handle more detailed the better. was also let know just a few months ago when injecting insulin to ensure kept detailed records. thats by the very same dsn thats just said n ot to keep detailed records lol?

the good news i was worried cgm maybe removed from prescription. I've been told that wont happen as will be a VERY sudden change. It will be essential to treatment. still takes me ages to actually stab sides of fingers frequently skip. eg yesterday swimming libre showing 2.7 ... just couldn't. other good news part is dsn is going to ask the consultant to try speed things up with obtaining an appt date with mental health team to try assist with getting over the irrational fear of needles.

Your slowly but surely getting to the bottom of this. Hopefully you'll get your appointment sooner. Take care.

Hi All I have taken a break from reporting FBG this last week but its been in the usual 8 range with a couple of high 7s, today is 8.1. Review with Diabetes nurse on phone next week. Current A1c is 42 after years of 36, oh well. The newish statin might be unhelpful for BG but my cholesterel has improved. Swings and roundabouts!
