What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.6 this morning….stitll smokey. Blah…
Did a 12 mile bike ride at the gym today as I can’t do weights for a few more days. Think I’ll do some gardening and some trip planning. Eating in Japan is a huge problem for me as I’m both low carb and gluten free (soy sauce is a big problem). I hate seafood also….i will figure it out.

4.8 today was up super early. Went to goto a waterpark book only online now in place lol pre COVID could simply walk in wait your turn and pay. Never been a fan of paying for stuff online had card details years ago stolen that's going back around 20 years. Off to find somewhere else to swim whilst in the mainland wee change of scenery imo does wonders every so often. Probably goto street market seen advertised earlier on the way home -)

Morning All 8.0 yesterday and 7.7 this morning. @OrsonKartt that was an unexpected endo opinion so will you continue with Basal once a day? Can’t remember now if that was advice of NHS or private endo. I have had similar mixed opinions re my eye treatment and it does flummox you. Happy Sunday all.

Since starting the basal, which is just 6 units my quality of life has improved dramatically.

The deep general malaise I felt has subsided considerably. I have started to put on weight , my bmi is now around 20. Most significantly though is that I am stronger. I no longer fall over which was a frequent painful event prior to medication . The scars on my knees are healed and I’ve put away the skateboarding knee pads which I wore as daily protection .
My friends are telling me I look better and I do feel better, not perfect but better

You ask am I going to continue with this. The answer is an unqualified yes

The nhs endo I have just seen was brusque to the point of rudeness. I felt gaslit during the meeting which I went to primary to get the results of the blood tests. These were not available.

I have made another appointment with the private endo , one who was recommended and turns out to have written several books on various forms of diabetes and is considered to be one of this countries experts.

I’m 71 and with a good wind have another decade or so on this planet. I’m doing my best to enjoy it

I wish you well with your eyes . I can’t offer any advise but have my fingers crossed for you …

5.5 today, Dexcom. Nice treadmill walk at the gym, half and hour, then and and some yoga. Still Smokey, the fire continues to grow and thunderstorms are in the forecast today and tomorrow. A very strange end to summer.
Going to harvest my tomatoes today. My dog keeps picking them, rascal.
