I have just come back from Drs as I’m having sickness due to my metformin sr after being in hospital I have to reduce the dose to one in morning and one at night and build up. My bloods are still high in double figures and I’m exhausted. Dr did say if I’m still struggling then he would sign me off. I’m due back to work tonight 11-7 and tomorrow was contemplating getting signed off while my body adjusts what does everyone else think please

Are you eating a low carb diet?
It is the single most powerful non medicated method of lowering your blood glucose levels and restoring what is effectively a broken metabolism to as close to normal as possible. It used to be the only treatment for diabetes, and for type twos it seems to be the most effective even now.

I would go with @Resurgam suggestion and investigate low Carb if you are not doing it... it is a powerful method to reduce the numbers and, in my case, improved my stamina for life.
Please let us know what you decided.
I wish you well.
