Im new to all of this too and following a spate of weight loss I went to get checked out.
My HBA1C test came back at 96 so due to my lifestyle I was given 3 months to reduce the average. After 6 weeks it reduced to 68 but since then my GADS test has come back positive so waiting for a referral to the diabetic team for further review.
My wife is a nurse and she feels I have LADA as I am till producing insulin as my bloods tests during the day are fairly normal (under 8 following meals) but around 8.5 fasting in the morning.
