During winter I do most of my exercise on my waterrower doing High intensity interval training, and I also do strength training with free weight barbells doing big compound moves like squats, deadlifts, rows and presses with fairly heavy weights, I will usually hit 140 when doing the deadlifts or bent over standing rows at the end of my 40 min session. I have found that if do steady state cardio immediately after strength training working an easy perceived effort even for just 20 mins its very effective in bringing BG right down, and stays down for a very long time afterwards, whereas if I don't do the cardio, it goes up by at least a couple of mmol for a couple of hours. The calorie burn is better too during that 20 mins of cardio too, almost as much as doing 40 mins of HIT without the strength training first.

I find very similar effects, weights or yoga put BG up or keep it stable, as do intervals. Cardio makes it drop like a stone most of the time, apart from if done in the morning before any insulin.

An interesting result.
Only 1/4 of us have a heart rate in the 61 to 74 band, but 1/2 of us are lower than that.

BP isn't too bad is it, any other reason why your heart rate was low?

Around 80 under investigation for tachycardia and ectopic heartbeat.
Both improved since diagnosis eating excercise sorted. The ectopic is uncomfy as l get throat palpitations. Tacy only short bursts showed on the 24hr halter.
Thur and Fri l have my excercise and exco tests.

The cardio agrees that it is probably stress related and made worse by the undiscovered and out of control diabetes l had. He said has about 5 people a day with ectopics could give me medication day he saw me to help sort it and adjust post test if they found a problem. It took me saying no abiut 5x before he said
if it was me l wouldnt take it.
Usual tack l aswered with No s**t sherlock you dont say.
I got a very confused look.
l dont want ***** ***** antidepressants honestly do they never listen.

64 this morning (typical)

It was a perfect evening for tennis yesterday.
Max rate 160 after an intense service game.
About 140 during other games
Falling to around 125 between games
Down to 95 10 minutes after play.

During a gym circuit 90 - 110

I gave the tennis figures to a heart consultant at the diabetes support group & he was happy with them.
220-age is 146
