When will the fatigue go?

I have gone the diet route and no drugs.fasted reduced carbs greatly but am tired every day. If things don't get better what is the next symptom most likely to creep in? I have read that even if my numbers improve, many people still are tired, which defeats the purpose of all the dietary sacrifices...Is it a matter of adding another drug or even insulin? Also, how much can stress play in giving you diabetes. I have high cholesterol, hypothyroid and have high blood pressure and heart attacks run in the family, my days are numbered anyway but I would like to at least be wide awake when I drop dead..I have two sisters and one has high bp and thats it, so it makes me wonder

My GP definitely lost some weight....5 stone in the head and smells like a scouser on holiday. Honestly reminded me of Foster Brooks in a white lab coat

What kind of of diabetes have you got? Are you doing blood tests? If your blood sugars are still high, then you are likely to feel tired. If you can get them to normal then the tiredness should go, assuming that they are caused by diabetes and not something else.

Edited to add. Welcome to the forums. I'll tag Daisy to give you the intro to diabetes post.

I had blood work and am waiting for results...last time I was in I was told I was prediabetic. I dont know what else could cause fatigue based on symptoms.. I am hoping it is not LADA 1.5

There's a LOT that can cause fatigue... Your thyroid medication might need adjusting. You could have vitamind D deficiency. (I know I am deficient and can't take the supplements, so... Taking in as much sun as I can to fix it, but at the end of winter/beginning of summer I am knackered to the point of pain.) The diet is worth it, honest. It makes a huge difference to quality of life and the length of said life. You should really get a blood glucose meter to see whether your dietary changes are having the impact they should, so if it is high bloodsugars, you can suss out why they're high. What do you usually eat in a day? And also important: are you getting enough fats and protein? There's 3 macro nutrients: carbs, fats and protein. If you cut one, up the others. Protein can up blood glucose slightly, though not as much as carbs, and fats are a blood sugar flatline, so ideal. If you don't up the fat to compensate the loss of carbs, you get deficient on vitamins and minerals, which also can cause fatigue... So you really need to balance things a little, if you haven't already.

Just don't let it go. You need to know what is causing this.
Good luck,
Jo

Thanks..I do supplement with d. The doctor ordered the Ac1 but did not did not fo a standard finger test. Like I say I fasted for 2 days recently and did not notice an energy boost. I eat low carbs my worry is that I have T1 as I am of athletic build and have a decent diet and the tiredness came on somewhat quickly 6 weeks ago. I was diagnosed with high cholesterol 15 years ago and never did anything about it..never had symptoms
