hi guy wanted to find where does everyone inject there insulin?. i started injecting in my thigh area recently before that it was my stomach. just wanted to know where else can you inject your insulin

I always inject in my belly (below the belly button) and change the spot regularly by injecting on the right for even numbered dates and on the left for odd numbered.
I was advised against injecting in the leg because I walk a lot which affects absorption rate.

In order of frequency: abdo, top of thighs, top of arms, on rotation.
Can't use buttocks - unable to access them!

Apologies for this one.......many years ago a consultant asked me a similar question.
" Where do you inject your insulin? " he asked.
"Usually in the kitchen " I replied.
I thought it was funny at the time, can't vouch for the consultant though.:):):):)

Is that just for fast-acting or for basal as well?

I'm interested as I get back into walking much more again (which I'd been cautious about doing as much as I had been as I was getting used to insulin) and if it makes a difference, I'll note that.

So far, I've tended to inject the basal into thighs, and fast acting into stomach, using buttocks for either basal or bolus only when at home and feeling well coordinated. (I have moments of clumsiness which are inclined to get worse when I'm on the low side).

In my upper arms, legs, bum, around the stomach area (not right in the middle)

Depends how fast I want it to act. If I’m in range I’ll inject my Novorapid into my stomach or thighs. If I’m above and want to bring it down quickly, I’ll inject into my deltoid or calf muscle and then use the muscle to make it absorb quicker (I’ve got some physio exercises for my shoulder and stairs for my legs!). Never more than a unit (usually just a half) using the muscular method, and never enough to put me into a hypo. Just a quick nudge. I can track this on my Libre, I wouldn’t attempt it without. One unit brings me down 2-3mmol max (I’m a bit resistant in the morning), so I only do this if I’m above 8. I experimented a lot with this in the safety of my own home, as I know it’s not exactly recommended.

Tresiba gets shoved into the flabby bit below my belly button.

Thighs mostly as I stopped using my ab wall as 12mm needles had nowhere to go, but now I've got these 4mms my belly's ok again, never done my shoulders or buttocks...

Lantus in the thigh as it's my biggest injection.

The general advice is that the stomach acts a bit faster than the thighs so I use the stomach for my Bolus and thighs for the Basal.
That's interesting. I was told the opposite.
But I guess this is based around being very active so my legs are on the go most of the time which affects blood flow in that area which I assumed increases the absorption rate.

I was told not to use arms or legs pre exercising for that very reason. The movement increases the speed of absorption.

I have a pump which is placed on the side of my bottom. When I was on MDI I did shots in my stomach. I had one or two shots in the upper arm (given by my mum) but decided stomach was better.
