I have heard that medical students practise suturing and injections on pig skin.
No responsibility taken for requests made by diabetics to butchers for such teaching aids.

I think we might need to ask the moderators. They could maybe delete what’s alongside the plastic word too.

Would be very interesting if it could be posted in all the relevant forums to read everyone’s responses

I cannot see any moderators on site at present. I shall let you know when I have made contact.
I guess it is probably something like 6 am over there.:inpain:

Libby - I'm not sure you poll will get most results in the Childrens' & Teens area of the forum. If you would like it moved to another area, please let me, or any of the moderators know where. That's you choice.

Active threads are viewable, via the Recent Posts list on the site, and lots of people use this way to keep up with things. We wouldn't support multiple threads in multiple forum areas as that tends to clog the place up and can cause confusion. Your thread/poll is open to anyone who wishes to respond to it.

Is there a thread, for insulin and injecting? If so, please can the thread be moved to that area.

Many thanks

I would add one: someone elses skin! Feels exactly the same as skin, and injecting yourself might be a lot less scary after you've seen your mother/partner/best friend not squeeking when you push a needle in their skin.
What I found real strange is that my nurse let me practice on a sponge, and then sent me home with my pen to do the first injection in myself alone at home.

When a student podiatrist we practiced on each other admittedly at times a fairly uncomfortable procedure particulary when practicing with local Anesthetics.

Oranges, again.
Some Diabetic Nurse Specialists (hospital sort) have 'medical dummy' to practise on.

That's a great idea!
Yes - your husband!
