Which meds need to be stopped before surgery

It seems absurd to have to post this question, but I am having major surgery in 2 days from now and I don't know which of my meds, or which food, to stop ahead of time, and when. I don't even know if my operation if morning or afternoon, just I was told it could be about 3 hours. I can't get hold of the hospital unit - tried phone and email. So hoping someone here has experience of it.

I know baby aspirin should be stopped but I don't know how far ahead. Ditto any foods which are anti-coagulant, like garlic, I believe. And then what about diabetes pills, which should be taken with food - metformin and dapagliflozin. I also couldn't get a dosage review, as my A1c dropped from 88 to 63. Is BG more likely to go up or down under anaesthetic?

And then Statin, Ramipril, and Bisprolol?

Thanks for any tips.

Unfortunately forum rules are that we can’t comment or advise on your question, none of us are medically trained and even if we were we still can’t advise on medication my advice is if your having difficulty contacting the hospital then try your GP or even 111,

Sorry can’t be more helpful

Anytime I’ve needed surgery I’ve had a pre surgery appointment where they go through my medication and am told what to take and what to stop I’m in Scotland btw

If you can't contact the hospital, your GP, or your diabetes nurse tomorrow, I'd ring https://www.diabetes.org.uk/support-for-you/helpline to ask what to do.
Your pre-op consultation should have covered your preparation regarding food and medication.

Good luck, and I hope all will go well with your op and recovery!
