I think its largely down to personal taste. I have never had an Apple product and wouldnt on principal regardless of price as they want their customers to do everything their way with their software which is fine if you just want a phone/tablet/computer that works well and dont mind paying the premium in price for the logo.
Personally I prefer to have the choice to select whatever software/apps I like from a variety of different companies I also like to keep my music as MP3 and or flac files as the quality is far better than Apples system, but and its a large but as I said at the beginning its still largely a mater of personal choice.
If you are happy with your iPhone then maybe you should stay with what you are happy with, on the other hand the Samsung phones have had the best reviews for some time now and are far cheaper to boot plus the main thing I like about Android is that because it is open source you can customise your phone/tablet and have a variety of different screens and themes that all look and work exactly as you want them to not as a marketing company wants it to.
Both camps have the staunch followers I am in the Android and PC camp when it comes to phones/tablets and computers.
You pays your money and takes your choice
