Which phone? Samsung or iPhone?

As to contracts if you're not in a 4G area and want faster 3G at nearly 4G speeds then pick Three as they are the only network that does 3G HPSDA which is significantly faster than other providers 3G offerings. You can normally get somewhere between 10 and 20GB / sec compared with normal 3G rates. You'll need a phone that will cope with it. The list includes iPhone 5, Samsung S4, Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and the latest Sony offerings. Three also do unlimited data (sims, contracts & PAYG) where unlimited is less than 1TB (1000 GB) / month. Obviously check their coverage map for your postcode to make sure you can get the Three HPSDA signal in your area.

Although I'm a bit bored with iPhone, I will certainly miss Facetime and iMessage. Very good if abroad or want to send pics free ! I just don't feel Apple has progressed much since the iPhone 4. The 4S and the 5 are not much of an improvement.

I think its largely down to personal taste. I have never had an Apple product and wouldnt on principal regardless of price as they want their customers to do everything their way with their software which is fine if you just want a phone/tablet/computer that works well and dont mind paying the premium in price for the logo.

Personally I prefer to have the choice to select whatever software/apps I like from a variety of different companies I also like to keep my music as MP3 and or flac files as the quality is far better than Apples system, but and its a large but as I said at the beginning its still largely a mater of personal choice.

If you are happy with your iPhone then maybe you should stay with what you are happy with, on the other hand the Samsung phones have had the best reviews for some time now and are far cheaper to boot plus the main thing I like about Android is that because it is open source you can customise your phone/tablet and have a variety of different screens and themes that all look and work exactly as you want them to not as a marketing company wants it to.

Both camps have the staunch followers I am in the Android and PC camp when it comes to phones/tablets and computers.

You pays your money and takes your choice :)

I've had iPhones and Samsungs and the Nexus 5 blows them both out of the water. Failing that, I'd advise an LG G2.

I bought Mr Luceeloo an LG G2 for christmas. His nose has been rarely out of it since. Being an iPhone girl myself, the screen on the LG G2 is awesome.
