Who are they?

Now then, when I was a teen in the early 60's, like countless others
I enjoyed meeting all me friends to listen to the jukebox while sipping
coke in those long gone happy cafe days. There was a slight rumour
floating around in the background regarding this young lady.
(who was older than in the image at that point, of course.)

I refused to believe those rumours but then, in the
90's I discovered those rumours, were in fact true.

* Edit....sadly she's no longer with us.

The clues floating etc; makes me think of " Esther Williams "and there were rumers about cross dressing by Jeff Chandler, her lover I think.

I will go along with the clever people above.

Dusty Springfield ....final answer.

Bette Midler is still alive as far as I know.

I unashamedly admit that I have lost the plot, the whole plot and nothing but the plot!

Ah well I wasn't far out, just 3600 miles.

Now think Catherinecherub is awinner.

Roy. :)

I will agree with everyone who said Dusty Springfield.

Well done Catherine if you are right....

Now Delaney had a donkey
and it was really wee,
so he put it in his garden
to let it have a pee,
but when it saw a dog out there
it gave it such a fright,
that it ran into the house again,
and did a great big, sneeze.
:D

And there really are wee donkeys out there.
Am I correct, or am I correct, dear folks.

It has to be Val Doonican ... but he obviously hadn't started wearing his famous sweaters at the age he was in this picture. :D

Val Doonican.

Your are the best Squire,
I saw Val Doonican while searching and completely ignored him while sleeping on the job.

2.39 !! In the morning !!

Now then, Clues.

Irish.
Possibly a dwarf.....
But of course the donkey clue points to Val Doonican which is the first person I thought of before I saw your answers.

So I am going to say Dave Allen.

Not that I recognise either of them from that photo.....
