Wholemeal (Brown) bread or Wholegrain bread?

Before I discovered I was diabetic, I was happily eating bread which was a weakness of mine, together with pasta, since finding out I was diabetic at the beginning of March, not a piece of pasta or bread or potato have been eaten, but I thought due to the fact that I'd read an article somewhere - not here, that seeded was good, so I've been buying, and also keeping a spare Burgen in my freezer, to be honest if not restricting myself, i could happily go through a whole loaf I love the stuff, but on Sunday I'm starting LCHF and even Burgen is not on the list so I'll have to forgoe it.

Hi @Dickenstan I find that I can manage 1-2 slices of Hovis seeded bread with little affect on my BS and have it about 3 time per week either toasted or as a sandwich. Why not test after eating bread and see what effect it has?

I eat Tesco "Spelt Pave" £1.50 per loaf, 1 slice per day at lunch time, tastes absolutely terrific, lasts me the week when kept in the fridge and barely nudges my BG.

Hi guys and thank you both for the info. I can't eat bread from tomorrow onwards as I've bought all the stuff I need as I start on the LCHF diet on Sunday, after I weigh myself, measure my waist etc - then go for breakfast, so I'll have to give the bread a miss right now, as you're not allowed any grains on that diet, fingers crossed my bs goes down as well as my weight.
