If you could have dinner with anyone you chose who would it be and why?
For me there are a few.

From these forums I'd most like to go to @Celeriac or @DeejayR 's house.
Celeriac because her day to day menus for her and her hubby sound amazing. Imagine what she would cook up if she had a dinner guest!
DeejayR because his food sounds great too - but he's also so **** WITTY! Would be an entertaining evening for sure.

Celebrity wise I'd choose Eddie Izzard, though I'd struggle to eat past the drooling (that man DOES it for me - even if his nails are better manicured than mine ;)).

From history I'd choose Florence Nightingale. As a nurse it would be so interesting to hear her talk of her experiences. And would be fun to hear her thoughts on modern nursing!

Anyway, I know this is a bit of fluff but will enjoy reading your responses :D:D:D

In no particular order:

@DeejayR
@modesty007
@Robbity
@Spiker (sausages and coleslaw, anyone?)
@Heathenlass
@Avocado Sevenfold

Goodness, I could go on all day. Sorry to all the ones I am leaving out. :)

Historically, I would love to have attended a proper Roman gustatory orgy, an Elizabethan banquet and lived in a northern European Neolithic community for a week at each season of the year.

Oh, and a dinner with Heston Blumenthal, so long as it didn't involve insects.

Cheers Brun :D x

My favourite celeb cooks are Nadia G and Laura Miller. Their food looks great and they are a good laugh. Ideal dinner party hosts!

My mam's - she was a rubbish cook but a wonderfully bubbly person, she passed away a year ago and I miss her enthusiasm for life

@lovinglife My mums been gone 14yrs now (and she was a good cook), I'd give anything to be able to have a meal with her :arghh: but :happy: at the thoughts and memories this brings back.

There are too many to mention lol but most are type 2's ( friends) but probably us coeliacs, so we can a good ole moan and groan whilst eating......................:hungry: :rolleyes::D

Angel Delight - now there's a blast from the past. Used to love that stuff when I was a kid!

Chester Bennington from Linkin Park, I wouldnt eat but I'd sure as heck drool

The Queen, I'd love to sit down with ma'am and have a chat

Paul Rusesagabina, watch Hotel Rwanda then u would see what he did

Yes, my mum was a good cook as well, but it was wasted on Dad & brothers as none of them would eat "foreign muck". She would cook for Mr Chris before we were married & he would come round for a supper after band practice. Christmas is always hard as she would get a boned turkey from butcher & I would go round a day or two before Christmas & do the stuffings (apricot & peanut, sage & onion & sausagement) sew up the turkey & take it home to cook. It was lovely to spend the time with her and just chat.

If it was famous people throughout history I would have 3 guests and myself
Elizabeth I
Florence Nightingale
Winston Churchill

For folks on this forum I would set up a giant marquee and invite loads of you

Well the previously saved bit didn't work..

Aesthetically, I rather like Adam Lambert's house in the Hollywood hills.

I think he would be fun. He and MrCeleriac would get buzzed on tequila so dinner could be interesting, especially as I don't think AML cooks much. But Adam and I could go lurk in Whole Foods and pick up the organic ingredients beforehand.

If in California, I'd have to invite Dr Robert Lustig up from SF because he knows everything about sugar and is a feisty New Yorker from Brooklyn.

I could create some minor fireworks, by inviting Gary Taubes, who has had disagreements with Dr Lustig before.

Ellen de Generes, because she's funny, smart, gorgeous and a vegan which would be another small firework.

From the forum, I'd have to drag @martykendall to advise on the finer points of FII while we were buying veggies in Whole Paycheck.

As to the menu, I think it would have to be local WeHo SoCal versions of MexiCali but low carb with vegan options.
