To those of you who were offended by my post I apologise. If you do not fall into the category then of course the post was not intended to be a criticism of you. I notice though that you all have something in common. Again not a criticism, but you are all relative newcomers to this forum and so you most likely will not have seen the numerous posts we have had in the past from people on insulin who do regard it as the means for them to make absolutely no allowances for their diabetes. We do our best to try to persuade them that they need to make changes, but the advice often falls on deaf ears.
You may want to bury your head in the sand and pretend that this doesn't happen, but unfortunately it does. My own brother-in-law is a prime example. He is an educated man, a chartered account and, despite pleas from the rest of the family and the experience of his own father who died at 59, blind and after a succession of amputations, has the attitude I described that insulin allows him to have whatever he wants.
And Nemesis, not that it's any of your business but my BMI is 24.8, which is of little relevance because BMI is not a particularly good measure of diabetes.
