Why is my insulin to carbs ratio so low? 1:5

I started out with a 1:10 ratio about 9 years ago when I was diagnosed with type 1 but now it is down to 1:5 (1 unit of insulin for every 5g of carbs). Does anyone else have this low a ratio?

People have different ratios, there can be a huge range between people and times of the day or month - do not worry about it.

I'm at 1:5 for breakfast, and different ratios for other times of the day

When I went on a carb counting course there was a full range of carb ratios from 1:2 to 1:50, yes I did just sit there and gasp loudly when the person doing 1:50 said it.

Welcome to the forums @Ad Vandervliet .

As @Rokaab said, ratios can vary widely. They make special strength x3 and x5 insulins for some T2s who may be literally taking 100s of units at a time.

I'm on 1 to 3g and though I personally reckon that this means I'm slightly insulin resistant (thanks T2 dad) my endocrinologist is quite happy and doesn't think so.
