Will my next ha1c be below 48?

Well, I just got online access, and my results were up........
My HbA1c score is now..........36
Pretty happy with that. Now I need to speak to the GP and arrange to come off the meds to see how I go for another 3 months.

Well done and that is awesome news, I was in no doubt it will be lower than 48. Can you enlighten people on what meds were taken and what changes you carried out? It will help others, when I joined here in March it was this place which educated me to implement changes to turn around my numbers.

Woohoooo, what amazing news!

From your profile I see you're on metformin only, so if you keep up the lifestyle changes getting off the tablets shouldn't be much of an issue.
Part of that hba1c is still the result from higher numbers at the start and you're already safely in the non diabetic range.

Agree - this forum has been instrumental in my success. When I got my diagnosis, I was pointed to the recipies on DiabetesUK website and told: brown rice, sweet potato etc was the way to go.

I was put on Metformin (2000mg) and a statin. I weighed 326lbs and tested at 80 for my HbA1c.

After reading about what people here did, plus doing some reading around and some youtubing, I thought I would look at going low carb. Initially I aimed for under 100g, but within a week I thought I could do under 50g. I keep a log of what I eat using MyFitnessPal and try to stick to about 2000cals a day and less than 50g of carb. I also try to swim for 30 mins at least 4 times a week.

I'm a keen cook, so I have done a lot of experimentation, and trying out low carb products. On the recipe front, Keto cheesecake is really decent, as are Keto Scones and of course: Chaffles.

In terms of stuff you can buy: the Skinny Food Co low carb wraps are v good (4g per wrap), and Lowecal beer has been an excellent find!

In 71 days, my weight has gone from 326lbs to 295lbs, my hA1bc has gone from 80 to 36 and my blood pressure has gone from 159/90 to 142/80 (still some work to do there).

As more weight comes off the blood pressure, should improve, unfortunately some things just take a little more time. The improvement caused by the Metformin, is probably balanced out by the Statins effect of raising blood sugars.
Well done keep up the good work.

That's a substantial achievement, and very well done. I'm sure you've thought about how to sustain this and what your next move is. Best of luck!
