Does anyone on Metformin get loads of wind?

All kinds of gastric upsets are common with Metformin. If it goes on for more than a couple of weeks (supposedly the problems should sort themselves out by then), speak to your doctor about changing to metformin SR/XR versions which are meant to be gentler on the gut.

I have read here about it being referred to as "Metafartin"

Yes.

I had no other side effects when I started using Metformin, so I guess I was lucky
