I'm currently on a birthday celebration weekend arranged some time ago but it's less than a week since I was diagnosed T2. I've been going LCHF as much as I can although no test gear yet, coming in the next few days.
Eating out has been interesting. Last night was great - the pub had plenty of meals with limited carbs and I had no sense of guilt in having a glass of red. Today my only overt carb has been a bit of crostini under my mackerel and salad, and I've had another glass of red.
Tomorrow we have a traditional Sunday roast prebooked. I will have the meat and veg but not the bread, potatoes and Yorkshire pud I would have had a week ago without a second thought. And probably another glass of wine.
But after this weekend I will come off the booze completely for at least a month. But the occasional red wine and even a pint of real ale will likely pass my lips after that unless I find that it's too bad for my BG.
