Would you get an artificial pancreas?

That's my concern. Basically the body in some cases would see the "internal cannula" in the long term like a "thorn".?
Line up the anti rejection drugs....!;)
 
I can't see if I need double insulin the minute I wake how the AP could possibly know that..
I have to pump double rstes 3 hours before I wake up so when would it pump in extra? Because Insulin still takes 90 minutes for it to peak in my body even without getting up syndrome....
I just can't figure out how it would not have me excessing high and then dropping excessively when the insulin started to work and then having to pump glucose in me constantly to stop the the then lows and I'd be physically working by then so it would be having more glucose.

I'm probably way off the mark but I just can't figure out how it could work with people that have excessive double rates for hours ahead of getting up and then the action time of the insulin.

Think I would have to be really convinced by other humans trialling as live guinea pigs in real life...

They used guinea pigs with credit cards.. They are not very good with money. ;)

I'll hold my hand up. It's all supposition at the end of the day... Nobody knows anyone who's tried it out in the real world yet! Lol

It nicely shows the difference between normal insulin delivery, subcutaneous delivery and delivery from an implanted pump.

Well if my hospital are offering them, and recognise them as cost curring then so should other hospitals.

It depends upon the pressures you people put on hospitals and the CCG's.....I acted when they first came out.... And got all the costings etc and asked that consideration be given. If people aren't actively approaching CCG's etc then how are they ever really going to consider costings etc...
