wrist bands, seriously

Newbie
I got a wrist band abd started wearing it 3 weeks ago.. I watches to see if they got popular at all first. It didn't seem to take long before several companies were marketing them. So i figured why not. Has anyone else tried wearing one yet? If so, what are your thoughts?

What sort of wristband and for what purpose? To simply advise you are diabetic or one of those scam glucose monitoring ones that are flooding social media these days that definitely are not accurate or reliable?

Oops sorry just saw that was your first post. Welcome to the forums.

Apologies for the abrupt post in reply but we’ve had a lot of message recently about those “glucose” watches and I’ve seen a lot of people scammed about them in various online groups.

Quite possibly the “alert” type was meant. However I’m not sure they are that popular or useful for type 2 unless on medication that might cause hypos, like insulin.

But the comment about lots of companies suddenly doing them brought the other type to mind

I’ve seen nicer ones than the silicone bands, but personally just use ICE information on my mobile as I also have other conditions.

Ive got one which has the snake emblem on the outer and TYPE 1 DIABETIC on the inner , it’s discreet enough not to shout to the world but enough to let people know ,

Mine has a leather strap, and a metal shield with the same emblem, and three medical conditions listed on the underneath.

Not diabetes band but wear Fitbit as really useful for monitoring exercise/steps per day/week and heart bpm. Gives great visibility and gets me going if low figures. Have heart disease prob. due T2 20 yrs and aim to slow future damage.

The wrist band I'm trying is the H-Band. I will continue to compare it's readings for the next month to be sure it's readings are accurate.

I thought that was the software used on various wristbands. Is there any verification or certification or accuracy claimed? Any detail on the methodology used? The ones I’ve looked at previously are seriously lacking and I’ve stopped bothering looking at them for now. It seems they just pick some random normalish figures that most non diabetics would be reasonably close to by accident.

I haven't seen these but wouldn't be keen. Wearing my Fitbit is enough for me. Plus when I see people wearing a CGM I wonder if they are diabetic or going through the Zoe programme. Have nearly asked but didn't.
