Wrist girth and insulin resistance...

It may be an old wives tale but somewhere at some time I was told that if you can circle your wrist with your thumb and middle finger and get them to meet, then you are the right weight. I can do this with room to spare and I am underweight.

Jim,

If it works then great! :D

I've heard that (and remembered it always!). I couldn't do it when I was young - but I can now. either my wrist got smaller, or my fingers got longer...

I know from last time I really lost weight that I can span my wrist and touch fingers at 15 stone! I don't think that's how much I should weigh at 5ft 6 - sorry to pour cold water on the theory!

I have small hands and stubby fingers, too, so it's not 'pianist fingers'.
