In your other thread you said you're taking insulin, you're obviously just doing a pretty good job of managing it if you're in range most of the time.
That does not mean you're not diabetic

Just mean type 2 instead of 1 where insulin is still present just not enough

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
When we’re you diagnosed?

Hi,
2006 I've seen nurse/ doctor maybe less than 20 times in all these years and those times were me asking to chang insulin type from novomix to apidra
Hba1c has always been perfect I do them once a year and was also told by a GP I need to take less insulin as its "too good" of a reading..

OK?

Maybe you have a gift with your insulin. Some do. I’m not knocking that..

How long have you been using the Libre?

I’m more concerned about your focus with the question question on your diagnosis. But if your insulin regime is doing well for you…
Sometimes doctors are focused with their concern with hypos.?

What sort of HbA1cs have you been averaging..? (From the blood tests with the lab.)

Been using libre for 3 months now,
Yeah as I said I don't eat low carb foods, my sugars always go back to the exact same level over and over again... hence I'm thinking type 2.
My Hba1c ranged from 42 to 45.

@Benjiib

Well I certainly see why you think Type 2, especially if you only use Apidra as a bolus insulin for meals. Is it correct that you do not take any basal long acting insulin since coming off a mixed insulin? Also re your Type 1 diagnosis have you ever had c-peptide and GAD (+others) antibody tests?

But if reclassified as a Type 2, what practical lifestyle benefits are you looking for? If you continue to take even a small amount of injected insulin I am not aware of anything, especially as you have demonstrated such consistent long term BG control under your current regime.
However, if you are interested in seeing if you can come off insulin completely, that is a different matter -
a) very much reduced risk of hypos
b) so much easier with DVLA if you are a driver - no need for "medical" license (might take a bit of time and bureaucracy to reinstate) and no need for numerous BG tests before and during driving.

Sorry for the longest reply ever but yeah I've been wanting to see long term results and tbh I'm rarely out of the green.
I was diagnosed on a bank holiday and seemed kinda rushed.. just find my readings odd I'm 90 plus in range only odd time going high...
Never had any other tests or any bloodwork done to rule out anything else.
Abasaglar for background
Apidra for meals

Hi,
My blood sugars are good almost too good and was wondering what you all think I don't eat special foods and I'm always in the green only going above zone rarely.
What you all think?
This normal.

Looking at the daily patterns graph in your first post, it looks like you're doing quite well on your insulin regime.
I don't think there is such a thing as 'too good' showing what type of diabetes you have.
I have T1 and my hba1c's are consistently in the 30's with a TIR in the high 90's, which shows I do well on insulin, not that I'm not T1.

If you're in doubt, you can ask for a C-peptide test. This test shows how much insulin you produce yourself. If you're T1, it will be low.
