My GP just rang me to discuss my anemia, since it occurred while he was away, and he wanted to touch base again. He asked my how my LC diet was going and I told him I was still running a daily average of 6.9 which is 0.1 up from when I last saw him. He said that was amazing, and shows its working well for me. I asked if it might be responsible for my low iron levels and anemia, but he said I have always been borderline, so he is not worried. He thinks it is most probably long term use of Metformin causing that, or the Lansoprazole.

Anyway, he felt that I could probably reduce my Glic dose now, since I am technically 'resolved'. I told him that I thought I still need 1 tab a day (to justify the meter test strips????? Shhhhh!) and we agreed to drop the dose to that officially YEAH I remain on annual HBA1c review unless I have any probs to report, so its looking good. I may start reducing Metformin now.
