I'm a type 2 and have often read it's ok to eat yogurt mainly greek but am having a real battle with my weight as I have to take cortisone every day (5 mg) for a different problem. I need calcium and have a really healthy diet but having to avoid as much salt as possible does make it difficult. I love yogurt for breakfast but now read stop if weight a problem. Also article mentions no cream. I guess I need to look at soya but am not too keen on the taste. I live in France so do not have th variety of foods you seem to be able to get in the uk. What do others have for a healthy breakfast? I need some suggestions!!!

high fat yoghurt with no additives (no pectin, no fillers, no fruit, no syrups, nothing but milk and bacteria) is a good addition to your diet . Low fat or anything with fillers including whey powder and dry milk is less probiotic and more likely to raise blood sugar. Take most fruit out of your diet for a bit while on the stuff.

I had a couple months prednizone once for systemic allergic reaction to poison oak so it is terrible to be on the stuff, but hopefully you will not have to endure this forever and meanwhile, 100% full fat probiotics are going to help weight, health, etc. Counterintuitive, but works
Thank you,I thought I should have the left fat yoghurt,I much prefer the full fat kind, what I want to know is what cereals are best,I have type 2. Mary

There is nothing healthier than eggs. So eggs cooked any which way for breakfast is a good start to the day. Go to work on an egg used to be the phrase bandied about when I was (much) younger, and still holds good today.

I am t2 diabetic only diagnosed 4 weeks ago and i have already found that I cannot eat porridge at all. I do sometimes have egg, poached but mainly scrambled in a dry non stick pan. But I am now low carb and found I can have full fat Greek yoghurt with a few blueberries and it doesn't affect my bg. I only have 2 tablespoons.
