My most useless gadget is a juicer which i bought from Tesco oh about........4 years ago and NEVER been used!!!!!

I've got quite a small kitchen and would love a halogen oven, but haven't the space so my best gadgets are; my Bamix, which does most of the jobs a full size food processr does and my knife sharpener, which suckers to the work top. I "touch up" my knives frequently and the local butcher re-ground my 9 inch chefs knife for me, so just a light touch is all. I also have a Grater from the CBeebies "I can Cook" range, which I bought for my grand daughter to use and is absolutely superb. No danger of skinning fingers. It works like a Mouli , but is suckered to the table and you just wind the handle. It catches the grated food too in a jug.
I also love my stainless steel cooking pot , which cost about £10 at LIDL and is used absolutely EVERY day usually with a steamer sat on top for veggies. I have other pans, but this one always comes out first
then there's the slow cooker, the wok, the combi micro-wave... Oh Dear! I do cook a LOT

Would say most used rather than favourite................Steamer pans: fresh veg or salad with every meal................Casserole pot: soups and casseroles especially in winter................... Veg peeler, grater, pyrex bowl, blender........................ oval roaster: for sunday roasts..........Electric mixer and hand held electric whisk. Hungry hubby, son, and mother and father in law who dine with us sometimes. All very enthusiastic. My Son especially has an excellent attitude to food. He has already earmarked some recipies he wants to help me make in the summer hols :)

I'd love a steamer , might buy one although a slow cooker isn't possible due to how overheated the house is. Anything left out tastes "sweaty" after a while buy my sense of taste and smell is ridiculous.
My mum was moaning about the good old days when she had an aga cooker but they look quite bulky to me.

[quote="Grazer" I think it makes us more creative. Look at whitbyjets almond flour cakes and so on. And I did make a low carb bread using a free breadmaker (from freecycle). It was 'orrible! But I'll try again.

Sorry about your 'orrible tasting buns. Better next luck next time![/quote]

Shygirl,

I have had a steamer for years ( about 15yrs, not same one though ) Not fancy, just a pan with 2 steamer pans on top. Whether you eat new potatoes or not ( I am not low carb ) you can simply have the boiling water underneath, use 1 ring on the cooker and the veg tastes so much nicer. My son eats most veg, his favourites are brockley and sprouts. ( most children dont like them, I used to use the steamer when I made his baby food ) All I do is steam them. The only time it is not used is when we have salad with a meal. I have a slow cooker and pressure cooker in the cupboard but I have never used either of them because I am so happy steaming or casseroling. Maybe i should try them!

My favourite is a curved fish slice, it is the only thing in my house (apart from my husband) that can reach that really itchy place in the middle of my back!

Hi ...
 know exactly what you mean!
I use a plastic 12" ruler to do the same with!
The itch is a pain as its nearly always a 2" out of my own arms reach...!
Hence having to use the ruler.
