My tickets are for a 00.01 showing on Thursday morning. The first opportunity I'll get :) I am a nerd...:borg:

Only when it's on DVD, and if the grandkids insist!

However, can't wait for the third star trek movie with the new cast due out in July!
Also new star trek series starts in early 2017. Wow! Can't wait!

I like the very early Star Wars films :) but I do not like the cinema, so will wait for it on TV :)

Love Star Wars ..
But I wait for DVDs .. I love watching films in comfort at home
But I know the cinema can be fun to ..

I want to see the lady in a van .. Will wait for DVD to come out ..
Back to Star Wars .. Great news ..:)

J.J.Abrahms is the director of both star trek and the star wars sequel!

It could be hand delivered to me in a gold box with ribbons and I'd still chuck it out. Star Trek, yes ... Star Wars, never.

To boldly go where no man has gone before

My son works at our local cineworld and they had a staff screening at 12:30 this morning so he went along and took his brother. Will find out later what they thought.
The cinema is going to be open for 24hrs for a few days and each showing is fully booked, even the 03:30am screenings! My son has a shift starting at 12:30am Friday morning and finishing 08:30am. He's not looking forward to that! Me, well I'll wait until it comes out on DVD.

I saw it at the 00.01 screening this morning. JJ Abrams has done a good job and I really enjoyed it. And Yah boo sucks to you @Mike D - Since JJ took over, Star Trek definitely hasn't split its infinitive... :p

No spoilers, @tim2000s , but could you give it a mark out of 10, say, in comparison to the other Star Wars films? Not that I'm obsessed and desperate to see it or anything

Both of my sons have said how much they loved it, it was excellent and completely forgot its now made by Disney. They want to go and watch it again.

I think the online reviews are mostly fair. I gave it 9/10. It compares very favourably with the 4, 5 and 6 and if it were the first ever, I think it would be considered to be the greatest. It is typically JJ Abrams. I saw it in 3D and the action sequences were breathtaking.

I will be going again to see it in iMax 3D at Waterloo...

Thanks @tim2000s That's an excitingly high mark

I've been avoiding reviews because I want to come to it fresh, but it's great that you think so highly of it. I'm even keener to see it now :D

My youngest was just crazy about the first films, we had to live eat and sleep Luke skywalker and the rest. He had every figure every spaceship, everything, the house was full of the stuff, we even had figures on the shelf of the landing rails because he ran out of space in his room. He was obsessed and his only regret was that age about fifteen he sold the lot for fifty pounds, oh how he's regretted that day it would now be worth a fortune as we also had all the boxes. Personally I've had my fill of Star Wars

I don't like the modern cinema complexes but we are lucky that we still have an old fashioned cinema in the villiage. It was unused for a long time and up for sale but as a listed building there are so many restrictions come with it. Local people set up a Save The Savoy support group and somebody invested money into it. Wow, what a job they've done bringing it back to it's original look, the new sign went up across the front, very art deco and inside they have removed some of the seats and put sofa's in there place. It's only tiny but comfy & cosy I can' t wait to try it.

I'm hearing rumors it's a brilliant film, but with some unexpected twists. I'm getting worried I may hear more than I want to before I can see it.

I will be going by myself. Mr B is a Trekkie not a Jedi.
Will wait til the crowds are over, watch in 3D, then get the dvd asap and enjoy again.

I am avoiding all the hysteria so that i come to it without preconceptions.

We (even Mr B) lost interest in Star Trek with the Reboot Universe. Yawn. Unacceptable.

Yes, Star Trek 3 next year, another one I will be watching.
