@walkingmoose

Read Totto's comments ... again .... all good advice from where I sit and NO, you don't want diabetes in ANY form

You won't get diabetes by hanging around the diabetes forum. In fact, you'll probably never get diabetes at all.

If you actually are worried about diabetes there are three things I think you could do.

1. Improve you diet.
2. Get moving, get some exercise.
3. Sign up for some other forum, not health related, and quit the diabetes forum.

HOW DARE YOU, !! Ask to me to leave !

I actually am interested in it thank you very much ! Why shouid my fun be taken away !!!??

Walkingmoose, I'm going to go out on a limb here. Do you have any MH issues, such as depression? People do care here but with the caring comes some honesty - you have been repeatedly advised that you have neither prediabetes, nor diabetes, but you are still posting here. You have had a test done at the docs, have normal numbers, yet say you are kind of hoping that you have prediabetes so you can stop yourself getting type 2. Can you see this really doesn't make any sense?
Motivation to change diet and lifestyle seem to be lacking, which is why I asked about depression, plus the fact that you don't get out of bed until 2pm, eat loads of sugar and carbs, and don't exercise at all. I get the impression that you are hoping to have prediabetes as it will then give a cause for you to carry on living very unhealthily, rather than motivation to change, and I think deep down you know that is the case. Think of it along lines of the diet that will always start tomorrow (so let's stuff what we can today) and the giving up smoking tomorrow (so let's smoke twice as much because it will soon be taken away). You are keeping on doing the same thing in the vague hope that something will come along..something that you can tie in with all the symptoms you have, and you can then use them as the reason.

I doubt very much whether anybody on here will advise you to check your bloods regularly, it just isn't necessary. If you decided to buy a monitor, even after all the advice you have had, that's down to you - it's your responsibility. But you really need to try and understand that it's not a case of nobody believing you, but that you have absolutely normal, non-diabetic blood glucose levels.
I have mentioned Health Anxiety here on this forum before and unfortunately, some were offended. But the fact remains that this is a common condition, where people read up on a particular illness, and try and fit their symptoms to that illness - I have seen quite a few here, including have had tests which prove otherwise. There are some cases where people are misdiagnosed, but there are usually other factors - you really don't fit into that category. I know this may seem harsh, but if you keep posting the "hope I have's", while making no changes, it is going to put people's back up. Diabetes is a tough condition to deal with, and people put a lot of work into trying to stay as healthy as they can - you have a chance to avoid it. Why not use the interest you have, and channel it into ways to help yourself? A lower carb diet can be followed by anyone, it is interesting and can make a big difference to how you feel in general.

Good luck with making some changes!:)

How dare you call diabetes fun? Which part of it? The blood tests? The limitations? The neuropathy? The shortened life span?

Get a life. There are lots of forums on a million different topics that actually can be.... fun.

I don't know what neuropathy is. I wanted to know more about it. Don't really know anything . I just thought if you have diabetes as well as dealing with it, you are more likely to have other serious health issues too.

Nothing to me is fun. TV is too hard to watch . Eating **** is ok sometimes but even that gets boring !

I don't have the motivation to wash and therefore even though I like exercise I won't as I don't want to sweat . So it's interesting knowing if I'm at risk of diabetes . I'm lazy . Big belly . Inactive . Don't eat great .

I don't want to get a life , it's hard. I want to lose a life thanks .

Cute name toto

Don't worry, we will all die eventually. I lost my husband to cancer half a year ago after ten years of marriage, I lost my mum in April and an old friend from Uni too. People die all the time from horrible diseases.

Only you can do something with the life that was given to you.

I am locking this thread as it has served its purpose and has degenerated into disagreements.

@walkingmoose You've been told the test results you've mentioned here are fine. You've also been advised to see a doctor for further tests if you're not happy.

NOTHING about diabetes is fun. If I could choose, I wouldn't have it - or any other medical condition either.

I'm sorry you're feeling unhappy with your life. If you're really feeling down, please speak to your GP. You can change your life and feel better. It might not happen overnight, but it can happen :)

Wishing you all the best,

Azure
